I made this image a couple of week-ends back.

Fall color is quickly turning brown and more and more trees are bare.
I hope you’re all having an excellent week!

This image is one I made last week. It was a gorgeous morning so, my next-door neighbor and I headed out to look for Fall colors earlier than planned. The morning did not disappoint.

This is my favorite image from the morning. I had it printed. It’s now hanging in my living room. Do you print any of your images? If not, why not?

Fall color has been a bit patchy here, but last week a friend and I found a little along the Carson River.

…some late bloomers,

and a Painted Lady. It’s been below freezing many nights and mornings this past week so I was surprised to see this butterfly still here.

I had a lovely visit with my Mom and Step-Dad. I hope you’re all having a good week, and are making some fun plans for the week-end. I’m going to see my Grandson’s, and my Mom once more before she heads back to warm and sunny FL, and hopefully, I’ll see some more of Falls beautiful colors and delights.

I went to see the Kokanee Salmon that are migrating upstream right now in South Lake Tahoe last Friday. I was hoping to see a bear since I just got butt shots of one the last time I went to see this migration back in 2010.
We saw salmon schools and some swimming around the creek, but no bears while we were there so, we went to look for fall color, have lunch, and return for the late afternoon, early evening and maybe see a bear come to the creek to eat.
We got lucky and a young black bear did come by to eat! It got really exciting for several seconds when the bear wanted to get up on the deck I and quite a few observers were on and cross to the other side. This is how close I was. Right at the very edge of my focusing limit…too close! I and everyone else backed up and the bear hopped up on the bridge and I was still too close so we backed up more and the bear walked across the bridge and into the woods.

It looked like it was heading back to the creek but near the other bridge so, I made for that and sure enough, the bear went up on a huge beaver dam and started hunting for something to eat. It didn’t fish. I wonder if it didn’t learn that skill?

That’s my bear tale. It was pretty exciting and neat seeing it.
I hope you’re all having a lovely week!

Last Saturday He-Man and I went to visit Baby Girl and the boys since it had been 3 weeks or so since we’d seen them and we missed the boys a lot!
#1 Grandson got out his mom’s guitar and was strumming and humming when suddenly he stopped playing and said, ” Grandma, for $5 dollars I’ll play you any song you want.”

I don’t know how it happened, but we all got songs for free!
Mine was short and sweet. It went like this, ” Grandma I love you the most, and you’re still number 1.” It made my heart sing!

I was in New Orleans for a week and had so much fun, and took a lot of photos of doors.
This one is from a restaurant in the French Quarter, but I didn’t pay attention to which one there are so many. I’m in catch up mode so, only one door today, but there will be more. 😄

This is part of Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors. If you have a door or two to share head on over to his blog and join in the fun or just head over and see the doors others have shared from all over the world. Just follow his directions at the end of his Thursday door post.
