Nevada really does up Capitol Square for Christmas nicely. Here’s just just a small look at the square.

Here’s a closer look at the doors.

For the History Buffs-
“First dreamt up by architect Joseph Gosling, the Nevada Capitol building became a reality in the early 1870s, thanks to contractor Peter Cavanaugh. Amazingly, the design for the Nevada State Capitol only cost $250, and was made of sandstone sourced from Abe Curry’s quarry—the founder of Carson City—near the historic Nevada State Prison on the eastern edge of town. Now, more than 130 years later, the Nevada State Capitol holds the bragging rights of being the second oldest capitol building west of the Mississippi River.
By the early 1900s, state architect Frederic DeLongchamps was already hard at work designing almost all of Nevada’s county courthouses and other official buildings in every corner of the Silver State. He helped design Nevada Capitol expansions by adding a breezeway-connected library and north and south wings.” ~https://travelnevada.com/museums/nevada-state-capitol/

This is part of Thursday Doors hosted by Dan Antion over at No Facilities Head on over to his blog to see many more doors from around the world.
I hope everyone had a lovely week-end. We shared our holiday with Baby Girl and her family and had loads of fun.
We dyed Eggs for the Easter bunny to hide and the colors came out so pretty. We used Baby Girl’s fresh from the coop eggs which are mostly brown eggs. We had to leave the eggs in the dye longer but it was so worth it. Look at these colors! I love the red and green ones the best.

Instead of chocolates we took the kids cookies to paint. We found the kits at Costco and it was fun. Even the teenage Grand-daughters enjoyed painting their cookies. There was enough for me to do one so I painted along with a couple of the kids. They ate their cookies as soon as they finished painting them so I didn’t get a photo, unfortunately.

Later in the afternoon the youngest Grand-daughter taught me how to drive the little red Quad and after two loops I was zipping around the property having a blast. I can’t wait to ride it again. I plan to go down the harder roads on their property then!

Let’s go back to my camping trip and look up at the stars from Mono Lake.

There was quite a bit of airline traffic that night as you see. I took out a couple of airline tracks that were red and distracting I thought.
I hope everyone had a great week-end, and you’re glad of life this week and always!
The snow plows, and crews were very, very busy this last week reopening all the major roads into and out of NV/CA. He-Man and I are so thankful for them!!! With their hard work and a break in the weather we took advantage on Christmas Eve day and went to Baby Girl’s for Christmas. Then we got stuck there for several days. We can’t complain!! 🥰 It was lovely hanging out with the them and boys a bit longer.
Yesterday our preferred route over Carson Pass opened up so we headed home.
I wanted to compose a new still-life for this year’s last post, but I haven’t had a chance this past week to do anything so I’ll end the year with an old image.
It’s been a year hasn’t it. Let’s hope 2022 is even better. I wish you all a very
From my house to yours with a thankful heart for your shared stories, lovely images, and most of all your friendships.
Count your Blessings! Reflect on the good things in your life, and move forward …ever forward with hope and faith. Believing always that it will all work out for the best. Until next week be well, be safe, and have a wonderful, and blessed Thanksgiving!
As I mentioned last week we were going to be treated to a Lighted Golf Cart Parade in my community by several neighbors that have their own golf carts.
It was a small but festive parade with just 6 golf carts. Myself and my neighbors waited outside in the cold for the parade to get to our end of the street. It was dark by the time they arrived. Here are a few images of the parade.
Here they come!
Santa!
…and quick as wink they were gone.
It was fun, and I hope they do it again next year!
I hope you’re all enjoying the Holiday lights and spirit of Christmas, and having a good week!
