Nevada really does up Capitol Square for Christmas nicely. Here’s just just a small look at the square.
Here’s a closer look at the doors.
For the History Buffs-
“First dreamt up by architect Joseph Gosling, the Nevada Capitol building became a reality in the early 1870s, thanks to contractor Peter Cavanaugh. Amazingly, the design for the Nevada State Capitol only cost $250, and was made of sandstone sourced from Abe Curry’s quarry—the founder of Carson City—near the historic Nevada State Prison on the eastern edge of town. Now, more than 130 years later, the Nevada State Capitol holds the bragging rights of being the second oldest capitol building west of the Mississippi River.
By the early 1900s, state architect Frederic DeLongchamps was already hard at work designing almost all of Nevada’s county courthouses and other official buildings in every corner of the Silver State. He helped design Nevada Capitol expansions by adding a breezeway-connected library and north and south wings.” ~https://travelnevada.com/museums/nevada-state-capitol/

Quite a sight! I’ve never been to Nevada, so thanks for this seasonal glance. 🙂
You’re welcome, Paul! 😃 They really do a good job of making it festive for the season.
These are wonderful! Hope you had a nice Christmas!
Thank you ever so much, Denise! We had a lovely Christmas. I hope you did too! Happy New Year!!
Nicely seen and photographed.
Thank you so much, Robert!
Such pretty holiday lights! I always enjoy seeing the holiday decorations this time of year. My hubby puts a few lights on the trees in our front yard. 🎄
Me too. By now there’s no way I’m ever out growing them. 😂
We have lights on the house, and the front doorway is decorated a bit too. 🎄🎅 You know for the kids. 😉

It’s so pretty!
What a wonderful celebration of lights! Great photos, Deborah.
Thank you, Rebecca!
If you’re the Silver State, shouldn’t your capitol be made of silver?
😂I think the dome is meant to represent that because it’s silver, but looks blue in this light from the Blue Hour.
The Capitol Building is beautifully dressed up! Lovely shots, Deborah!
It fun and playful. There are several little displays that are fun and wintery with face cutouts for you to pose in. I did that with a friend but, haven’t developed them yet. 😜
It’s cool to see a state building with such playful decorations. Great photo, Deborah. Hugs.
Thank you so much, Teagan. It’s a fun venue for kids of all ages this time of year.
