I’ve wanted to shoot my tent under the stars for about a year now. Last night the opportunity arrived. It’s not the shot I’ve imaged, but it was good practice and a great learning experience. As always there are a couple of things I’d do differently, but overall I like this shot.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with like-minded photographers last night, and I hope to do more shoots like this as the weather gets a bit warmer.

I took this a couple of weeks ago on a wonderfully clear night in the city. I lucked out with the light on top of the Transamerica Pyramid Building being on. It’s only lit during Holidays and by special requests. It was lit in honor of Chinese New Year on the 23rd and 24th.

My Intervelometer was acting up and I didn’t have my glasses to see what the heck was wrong with it. I knew it was a setting, but I couldn’t read it to figure it out so I used a higher ISO to get the proper exposure. Once home with my reading glasses on I discovered it was as I thought a setting reversed.

I met a group of Photographers early this morning to photograph the Moonset and I hoped I’d get my timing right so I could get this shot lined up.
It’s been really, really great the last week having clear skies in the city.

He was up and out really early this morning. If he thinks getting into these yoga poses are tough for a manikin…Ha! They’re just as tough for me some mornings.

While out birding recently my friends Dali, Rainey, and MamaZ ; Dali and I spotted a Moorhen, but it kept ducking in and out of the reeds so I wasn’t able to get a clean photograph of it so we decided to go around the marsh once more before the light faded. Dali spotted this Sora busy hunting for food. I thought at first it was a big Sparrow, but was thrilled when I got a better look at it. This was the first time I’d seen one!

I didn’t get clear view of him. He too liked the privacy of the reeds, but at least he was close enough to get a picture of.

The migration back to the North seems to have started as there are fewer birds around the marshes we visited. I probably won’t be visiting this area again until Spring.
It was great getting together with Dali, Rainey, and MamaZ.   We even splurged on Guacamole Burgers and fries. I’m looking forward to our next get together!

I set out Sunday morning to photograph the Moonset over San Francisco,  the first location I wanted to go I wasn’t too comfortable going alone, so Diva Dog and I moved to plan B where we watched the Moonset. I can’t complain too much about plan B’s location the Moon was gorgeous, big, and the colors in the sky were lovely!

I spent the rest of the day with No 1 Grandson and family. I hope you all had a beautiful Sunday, and have a great week.
