I had the pleasure of observing the last night’s sunset on the coast with friends.

It was a warm, peaceful, beautiful evening.

I hope everyone had a lovely Holiday week-end.  Our’s was really nice.

This was our sunset Saturday evening in Morro Bay, CA. That’s Morro Rock a 581ft Volcanic Plug at the entrance to Morro Bay Harbor.

A volcanic plug is a remnant volcanic neck.  There are 13 volcanic intrusive units that form these plugs, lava domes, and sheetlike intrusions from Morro Rock to Islay Hill 18 miles southeast.  Wikipedia has more information about the rock here.  It sure is pretty in the evening with good light and color.

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments, and well wishes for our Anniversary! We appreciate everyone of  them.

I’m beginning to get caught up with emails, and blogs.

For Leanne Cole’s MM2 this week I present another image from last Saturday’s photography adventure at Martin’s Beach with one of my favorite Meet-Up groups which I talked about and shared the sunset image here.

I mentioned that we had changing weather; going from very thick clouds, and no sun, to the sun breaking out, and then the fog rolled in.  I made this image as the fog was beginning to recede.

The seascape here with the rocky shore, and surf is beautiful, and haunting at the same time.

Can you imagine a Galleon Pirate Ship sailing past this rocky shore hoping to evade detection and the rocks? 🙂

Monochrome Madness 2- Big Sur Coastline

I’m a bit late with this week’s post for Monochrome Madness 2, but better late than never right? I’ve been under the weather all week with Strep Throat.

The only place I went was to the mall to do some Birthday, and Christmas shopping the week before so, I’m guessing that’s where I picked it up.

I dug into my files for this image. I made this image one evening this past May. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the experience, because not too long after I made this image I was hiking to another location along the cliffs when my boot got caught in the ice plants that were part of the trail, and I fell down then found myself sliding down the cliff. Using my tripod with my camera mounted on it like an axe or pick,  and my other hand to grab onto ice plants I was able to stop before falling over the cliff! It all happened so FAST! I was so silly my only thought was…” Crap, I hope my camera is okay!” I checked it first to make sure it  was still working when I got back up on the trail.  Thankfully both myself, and the camera were fine…dirty, and dazed, but fine.

I took a higher path out let me tell ya!:)

I’m on the mend and feeling much better today. I hope this finds you all healthy, and safe!
