    1. LOL! I wish! This one was so skittish we’d quietly creep up to it, and it would fly down the fence a few posts, land, and we creep up only to have it take off for a post further down the fence. This was taken while it flew off to yet another post. Thank you so much!

I think it was laughing at us.

  1. Looks as if he’s mugging for the camera, Deborah. 🙂 Happy Wednesday. I’m now into almost-time-for-Photo-Challenge mode. Not nearly as relaxing as having done a Wordless Wednesday post last night to publish early in the morning.

      1. The Photo Challenge moved from Friday to Wednesday some time ago. I always liked Wordless Wednesday, too, but I like taking part in the photo challenge, so I’m sticking with Silent Sunday. 🙂

    1. They are fascinating creatures aren’t they. Thank you so much Teagan!

You know I packed the book you wrote to read this week, but was so busy getting our new house closed I never even got break the spine. I’m looking forward to some down time to do just that though.

        1. It is, but I’m not moving straight-away. I wish we were, but getting the house is step one of our plan to downsize, and retire. Now we’re really motivated to get there. 🙂

In the meantime I’ll be decluttering and purging more stuff to make packing and moving a little easier. 🙂

    1. It is perfect form isn’t it! It was cheeky little Kestrel. Playing cat and mouse with me and my birding companions.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment!

Sorry I’m so late replying. I’ve been out of state signing my life away purchasing a new house.

        1. We bought just outside of Carson City, NV. Unfortunately, we can’t move yet. We’re hoping to be there within 1-3 yrs. We’re making the first step and getting a house/presence there now. We’re hoping to rent it out in the meantime. After it closed on Wednesday we were getting some repairs done, and hired a property manager. I really like the house. It was so sad leaving it to come home to this house yesterday!

I will probably share more details about the house and area in a blog post.

          1. Wow. That’s really exciting. You’re making a “long” range plan.
I gave Gilles ‘notice’ a few weeks ago that we need to start thinking about moving in the next few years. It’s going to take him that long to wrap his head around the idea 😉

  2. He looks like he’s noticed you, Deborah. I hope you were ready to move quickly 😉

Beautiful in-flight capture. I love the clear blue sky as a background. He’s such a magnificent bird.

    1. Thank you so much Dan! I was ready for this shot thankfully! It was taunting me and my birding friends flying around a bit. I thought it was saying Nah, nah, naw, nah! B/C it was so skittish it kept flying away a little ways, perching then when we’d get a little close to it it would fly away a little ways and perch….cat and mouse was in fully swing with this Kestrel.
