LOL! I wish! This one was so skittish we’d quietly creep up to it, and it would fly down the fence a few posts, land, and we creep up only to have it take off for a post further down the fence. This was taken while it flew off to yet another post. Thank you so much!
Looks as if he’s mugging for the camera, Deborah. 🙂 Happy Wednesday. I’m now into almost-time-for-Photo-Challenge mode. Not nearly as relaxing as having done a Wordless Wednesday post last night to publish early in the morning.
🙂 Thank you so much! When is/what day is Photo-Challenge? Friday? Since so many times this past year words eluded me when posting of or more of my images Wordless Wednesday has been a blessing.
The Photo Challenge moved from Friday to Wednesday some time ago. I always liked Wordless Wednesday, too, but I like taking part in the photo challenge, so I’m sticking with Silent Sunday. 🙂
They are fascinating creatures aren’t they. Thank you so much Teagan!
You know I packed the book you wrote to read this week, but was so busy getting our new house closed I never even got break the spine. I’m looking forward to some down time to do just that though.
Oh wow! An new house is so exciting. Congratulations. The book isn’t going anywhere. I’m honored that you’re interested in it. Moving is huge work. Hugs.
It is, but I’m not moving straight-away. I wish we were, but getting the house is step one of our plan to downsize, and retire. Now we’re really motivated to get there. 🙂
In the meantime I’ll be decluttering and purging more stuff to make packing and moving a little easier. 🙂
It is perfect form isn’t it! It was cheeky little Kestrel. Playing cat and mouse with me and my birding companions.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment!
Sorry I’m so late replying. I’ve been out of state signing my life away purchasing a new house.
We bought just outside of Carson City, NV. Unfortunately, we can’t move yet. We’re hoping to be there within 1-3 yrs. We’re making the first step and getting a house/presence there now. We’re hoping to rent it out in the meantime. After it closed on Wednesday we were getting some repairs done, and hired a property manager. I really like the house. It was so sad leaving it to come home to this house yesterday!
I will probably share more details about the house and area in a blog post.
Wow. That’s really exciting. You’re making a “long” range plan.
I gave Gilles ‘notice’ a few weeks ago that we need to start thinking about moving in the next few years. It’s going to take him that long to wrap his head around the idea 😉
Thank you so much Dan! I was ready for this shot thankfully! It was taunting me and my birding friends flying around a bit. I thought it was saying Nah, nah, naw, nah! B/C it was so skittish it kept flying away a little ways, perching then when we’d get a little close to it it would fly away a little ways and perch….cat and mouse was in fully swing with this Kestrel.
All I see is the joy in the freedom. Lovely photo!👍
Thank you so much Kip!
You are welcome!🌟
Magnificent kestrel with such a great photograph, Deborah. It is impressive how clear he is. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment Robin!
You’re so welcome! I have an affinity with birds especially. . . Hugs xo 🕊

Breathtaking!
Thank you so much Lynn! xx

Amazing! Deborah, this is a gorgeous photo!
I’m so glad you like it Antonia!
Super shot, Deborah
Thank you so much John!

Obviously, he’d been waiting for you to photograph him. Gorgeous shot! 🙂

I think it was laughing at us.
HAH! Well you’d know better than I, but it’s a GREAT shot! 🙂
🙂
Marvelous!
Thank you so much Cheryl!

Silent Sunday sounds like something I would enjoy right now too! I’m such a chatter duck normally, but writing…not so much.
There’s nothing like the inspiration of a bird in flight, Deborah. Hugs.

Oh, you’re nearly speechless! I’m so glad you like it Melissa. 🙂 It’s such a treat to photograph a bird in flight.
Hahaha You’re right! I take photos of birds in flight all the time~marvelous grey blurs 🙂
🙂 Marvelous grey blurs you can use for textures verses the countless butt shots I get…which aren’t good for too much. 🙂
🙂
Great photo! I like the way he seems to be looking right at the camera as if to say ‘how’s this for perfect form?’ 🙂

A new home!! That’s exciting! I assume we will be hearing some details – where and when?!

Good thinking! I started making noises about 8 yrs ago and finally He-Man is “in”! 🙂
I’m afraid I didn’t bring it up a lot earlier.
He looks like he’s noticed you, Deborah. I hope you were ready to move quickly 😉
Beautiful in-flight capture. I love the clear blue sky as a background. He’s such a magnificent bird.

Well, you got him 🙂
