I couldn’t let our new Thursday Doors host have his debut and not post a door to welcome him. So, here is a lovely door all done up for Christmas that I spied while in London on January 1, 2020.
I wish you a fun and successful run at hosting Thursday Doors, Dan!
You can find Dan’s blog and links to other doors from all over the world here.
more to come…
Lovely!! I do love a red door and their decorations capture the magical feel of the holidays.
Their decorations were really great weren’t they. Thanks, Amy!
They sure were!
Great shot and holiday decorations … they make this time of year feel special. I use a lot of wintry decorations rather than Christmas so I can leave them up all winter long!
I do that with my bedroom decor and this year I set up the mantle with a winter theme that can stay up all winter minus our stockings. 😀
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, Denise!
That’s a beautifully decorated door. Good find in London!
Wasn’t it a great find? I was chuffed to see it! 😀
What a beautiful red door, and a warm welcome to Dan!
Thank you so much, Jennie!
You’re welcome, Deborah!
That’s a beautiful composition!
Thank you, Gordon!
This is such a fun and festive doorway, Deborah. Gave me a chuckle, thank you.
So happy to make laugh, Jet! 😀 Thank you!
That’s such a lovely festive door, Deborah. Was it a display in a store?
Isn’t it lovely? I wonder what they’re going to do this year? It was residence building I believe. I spied it walking somewhere…I have a feeling it wasn’t too far from the original Hard Rock Cafe, but it’s been nearly a year since I saw it so…my memory is fuzzy.
It’s a great shot, Deborah. The original Hard Rock Cafe is near Hyde Park Corner at the bottom of Picadilly. There are some rather lovely houses there. I hate to think of how one would cost to buy these days.
I can imagine how much having lived in Silicon Valley for many decades.
Great door, Deborah.
Thanks, John!
Magical!
And the little light pole is surely a distant cousin of the Narnian one 🙂
Isn’t that lamppost nice! They really went big with the decor and it came out fabulous I thought.
Oh, for sure they did!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a residential home decorated this pretty for Christmas. 🙂
Thank you for sharing. Have a merry weekend, Deborah.
Thanks, Patricia, you too!
Cool Deborah! Somehow I immediately expected it to be a British door, and so it is! I see a red door and I don’t want to paint it black. 🙂
Do you normally want to paint red doors black? I do like a good British Black door with gold hardware, but red doors are lovely too.
There were so many great decorated doors at Christmas in London!
I was inspired by the Britishness of the door and an old Rolling Stones song came to mind. 🙂 I would very much like to see London during Christmas!
I hope you get see London during Christmas time, but be prepared for crushing crowds! I couldn’t believe how crowded the city was. I would do it again though. 😀
It’s fortunate January opened a door for you to go to London shortly before the pandemic shut the doors to most travel.
We went over the day after Christmas and stayed until after the New Year. The city was crushed with people! The virus was probably making its way there then. We feel very fortunate to have made the trip and are hopeful that we’ll be able to travel again soon!
Thanks Deborah. That is a festive door, and one that helps make me think of better things than isolation, masks and distancing. I appreciate your support.
Thank you, Dan! I’m looking forward to traveling again let me tell ya!
We all are, and I was looking forward to not traveling as much after I retired. I didn’t mean this much.
😀
A fun doors post, Deborah. Hugs on the wing.
Thank you, Teagan! Hugs on the wings to you too!
Oooo, so nice and Christmas-y! I can’t even dream of a white Christmas here, Deborah, so it’ll all have to be vicarious. This is a lovely start.

Thank you so much, Janet! ❤
I love red doors
Me too! 😀 Thanks, Sheree!
You’re very welcome
Perfect door for December and Dan’s first soiree. 🙂
Thank you, Judy!
