At the end of March He-Man and I had our 36th Wedding Anniversary, but we kept it pretty QT since it fell on a week-day. We were anticipating our get-away to Pismo Beach this past week-end (April 1st & 2nd) to celebrate us.

He-Man booked a room for us right on the cliffs with a balcony with a partial view of the ocean and pool area.   The image above is the sunset Saturday evening from our balcony on the 3rd floor.  I loved this view.

The hotel we stayed in is the Shore Cliff Hotel in room 315. When we opened the door and walked down the small hallway to the main sleeping area we were surprised and delighted to find the bed covered in rose pedals (faux) and a tray loaded with two wine glasses, a pair of Swans made from Towels (towel art), a bottle of Sparkling Cider, and a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary!  Isn’t that lovely!

The swans towel art and rose pedal theme was even in the bathroom.  It had double sinks- I loved that! I wish my own bathroom had room for double sinks, but really don’t want one more sink to clean. 🙂

I’ll show you the little kitchen area, and entertainment areas of the room too.

and a welcome party of one came to our room shortly after our arrival.  He flew up to the balcony and stayed for awhile then he flew down for a swim and bath in the pool after leaving our balcony. (I’m saying he but don’t know for sure.)   🙂

I think that might be the Mrs. watching to make sure he gets behind his wings.  🙂

We went to dinner next door where I found a great door which I’m saving for a future Thursday Doors post.

We had a lovely week-end, and enjoyed our stay at Shore Cliff Hotel and love this part of California’s coastline.

  1. Congratulations on your anniversary! What a lovely weekend you had. I love it that your room was decorated for you.
I got a kick out of the seagull in the pool with the Mrs. watching. Too funny!

  2. Happy belated anniversary, dear Deborah and hubby (He-man)! ❤ ❤ I liked the interior decorations and the exterior gorgeous water scenery! Here's to many more! That seagull was a little nosy, don't you think? Maybe hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the balcony, too. 😉

      1. Of course, this wild thought which is off the subject of anniversary celebrations popped into my mind: Do you remember on the TV show, “Bewitched,” the nosy neighbor lady? Ha ha ha! Maybe she was reincarnated as a seagull. (?!)

  3. Haha! I love the gull story! That was adorable stuff!
That couple hanging around another couple, perhaps you’re all four celebrating the looooove!
I have had two bathrooms with double sinks and I mean to tell you, vanity time togetherness is really rather overrated. We were still in one another’s way half the time! LOL

    1. That gull was fearless! We were sitting right there on the balcony enjoying our after dinner wine, and sunset, and the gull stayed in that corner for a long time. Probably hoping for food, but I told him I wouldn’t feed him; he was wild and I hoped he stay that way.

I can see vanity time being overrated, but this time it would have been wonderful b/c last week He-Man got me out of the bathroom while doing my make-up so he could brush his teeth TWICE. SIGH. Having two sinks then would have been nice.

  4. Happy (belated) anniversary, Deborah. What a great place to spend a couple of days. That’s a beautiful sunset! The towel art always impresses me. I’ve seen all kinds of shapes, but never swans – that’s a nice touch!

    1. Thank you so much Dan. We love the beach as much as the mountains, and we love this area so anytime we can steal a week-end there we go.

Towel art. Those swans were neat! I’ve seen several different shapes too. They leave a towel shape in every cabin on cruises. I’ve had an elephant, shark, duck, bear, and bat. This was the first time I’ve seen or had swans.

On the last cruise we were on they had a Towel Art class on a sea day. I wanted to do it, but we had something else going on so I missed it. It was probably a trivia team thing. 🙂

  5. Happy Anniversary Deb! Sounds like you and your Mr. had a wonderful time….kinda funny how the birds always show up for a photo!! XOXO
