Thursday Doors 9/52 San Francisco

While I was in San Francisco walking around North Beach last week I couldn’t help but take notice of the doors;  quite a few caught my eye.

Nº 551, 553 & 555 – I love these doors, moulding, and color scheme.

Nº 1405- These are so modern or perhaps it’s Art Deco? I think it’s a bit glamorous. 🙂

I really like this shade of yellow. It’s so uplifting; like sunshine.

Nº 4:  The wire work, arch, and color scheme grabbed my attention with this door. I saw it while on my way to lunch, and had to stop to make the image.

Nº 325, & Nº 327- These were by far the cheeriest, and prettiest doors I saw on my walk-about. They were also pretty steep. 🙂

  6. Doors…what an interesting subject to capture! All are great, but I particularly like No. 1405. That ray of light on the pavement and the contrasting colors! It’s been 10 years since I’ve been to the Bay Area. I need to get back soon!

    1. Thank you Wayne! I really like doors, and windows so this seemed like a perfect project for me this year.

      I hope you get back and we have a chance to hang out and shoot together. Lord knows when I’ll get back to Hawaii.

  9. San Francisco does have some amazing doors. We were there a few years ago and I saw quite a few on my walks while my husband was at the Oracle convention. That makes me realize I probably have some shots that would work for the challenge. 🙂 Hurrah!

        1. I think so too! Making friendships and connections is wonderful and makes blogging, and social media so wonderful. I’ve met some amazing people and friends through my photos. The internet is a wonderful gift!

          You, are amazing! You always have something relevant and nice to say when you comment. I am often tongue tied and can’t find the words, and beautiful, or amazing is too cliche, and easy, so I just hit the like button and don’t say anything at all. I wish I had your gift with words.

          1. Aww, thanks so much. I did a post once on synonyms for “great” and “beautiful”, as I know how easy it is to use them. I just try to find something specific I like and mention it, but sometimes I just don’t have enough time to comment.

            I’ve been fortunate to meet some of the people I’ve gotten to know online and that’s lots of fun. I hope it can continue to happen.

  11. The first and the third door are the favorites of you captures! Since hubby’s specialty in Southern Calif. was hanging doors, I can immediately see craftsmanship on a door:) These are beautiful and have a distinct charm. One time we’ll have to stay for a few days near San Fran. so we can click away with the camera at several places. It has been a whirlwind the last 2 weeks with (good) family circumstances, so hubby has not done anything but glance at your explanation. He asked me, “Do you know you have to wait??” (he knows how impatient I am!)

      I’m heading south this month to Morro Bay for a few days. I can’t wait!

  15. You brought us a very nice collection today Deborah. I cast my vote (what, you aren’t taking votes? darn) for the doors at the top. I like the whole package. It takes a lot of work to make the much smaller entrance door stand out from the larger overhead door and yet still have them both look nice. These guys did a great job! Excellent photos.

    1. Oh yes votes are fine! I love those doors too. They are my favorite of these doors as well.
      The finishing touch of the brass kick plates are the cherry on top of an already really great look.
