#1 Grandson, Diva Dog, and I weren’t the only ones in the backyard soaking up the warm rays of the sun after the rain.
It was on the brick flower border sunbathing until I scared it with my camera. It sought the shelter of the AC unit. I crept as closely as I could to make this image of it, but I pushed my luck moving too close, and off he ran under the unit, and out of sight.

Week 44! Can you believe there are only 8.5 weeks of 2014 left! The year has flown by.
This Gulf Fritillary was fearless! It came to my Lantana while #1 Grandson was out in the yard playing. I had my camera nearby so grabbed it and captured quite a few images of it. I made this image yesterday afternoon.
I wish more critters, and insects were as brave as this one.

This image I took a month ago while birding in Carmel, CA. They’re so little and cute!
Here’s one more. A Snowy Plover watching two Sanderlings foraging in the sand, and I’m sure it has an eye on me too.

We had some amazing clouds yesterday which I wanted to shoot over at the coast. Fortunately, my friend Dali was thinking the same thing. We met up then headed over the hill. Which in local speak means going to coast. The hill by the way is actually the Santa Cruz Mountain Range that those of us in San Jose cross to get to Santa Cruz.
The amazing clouds got all mixed up with the fog and blocked any color that might have been, but it made the sky dramatic and moody. Walking back to the car we were stopped by this scene. The Sun was a gorgeous ball of orange that dropped into a small pocket just above the cliff which framed it beautifully.
It was a lovely end of the day.
