There are several interesting and old building in Colusa, CA. so, while I had some free time I thought I’d visit a couple for Thursday Doors.
The first one I found was Our Lady of Lourdes Church with its beautiful bricks, arched windows, lovely steeple, and pretty red door complete with pretty street lamps.
I couldn’t find much about this building’s history other than it was erected in 1880-1881, and
“this historical marker is listed in this topic list: Churches & Religion. A significant historical date for this entry is October 12, 1900″.~ from their website. https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=17492

Beautiful church! Ours recently closed. We are having services through April and then that is the end of it. It will become a Shelter for Men. We already have one for women. Glad to know the building will still be in use.

Beautiful doors and symmetry in this church, Deborah. And I like the gnarly bare branches, too. We don’t find many brick buildings in EQ-country California, so this find is a beauty.

Those are perfect doors for a church. The detail they used to put into churches is a thing of the past, I think. Nice to see your photos!

I’ve always enjoyed decorative doors. Here in New England a lot of old homes have interesting dors but I’ve never pursued it as a project. The door you have shared is very appealing, especially those triangular curved lines in the peak above the door.

That’s a lovely church, Deborah. I love the doors. I really like how the portion above the transom is divided to mirror the shape of the arched entrance and the shape of the windows. Thanks for joining us at Thursday Doors.

Thank you, Gordon! No, we’ve never ventured into Colusa proper but, there are 7 more places that have markers in Colusa that would be fun to see. I’ve seen two of those while driving around but, didn’t stop.

Nice! Every feature of the church points upwards. I like the red of the door, matching very well the colour of the bricks. It shows that the good folks from Colusa take good care of their church.
