I didn’t think I’d be able to see the Lunar Eclipse this time around because snow and cloud cover was predicted in the forecast. I set my alarm anyway and thought I’d just photograph Totality since it was in the middle of the night and cold.
When I got up and looked out the window I couldn’t believe it, it was clear and barely a breeze blowing!
It was just a few minutes after 2:00 A.M. PST…(I think that’s the time we’re in now? 🤷♀️ ), when I started taking my test shot.
Totality began at 2:16A.M here and I was ready for it. This image was made at 2:221A.M

The next Total Lunar eclipse to be visible in the USA won’t be until March 14, 2025. Until then my mind will be shifting from the
Moon to the Sun as there is an Annular Solar Eclipse in October 2023. The last time I photographed an Annular Solar Eclipse was back in 2012. You can see that post here . I’m hoping I can get to the sweet spot to photograph it again.
It snowed here all day yesterday and is looking magical and very much like Winter is here.
I hope you’re all having a good week, and are staying warm and safe.

more to come…
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on one’s outlook, waking up at 2 a.m. is not a problem due my weird body clock. But quite unfortunately our sky was as you thought yours might be. And it was worth getting out there as you got a very nice shot, Deborah.
Thank you so much, Steve for this lovely comment. I’m glad I set my alarm! 😀
Now I’m waiting for a clear sky to see the Comet C/2022 E3 (ZFT) Fingers crossed!
Good Luck!
Thank you! The sky is clear tonight! Fingers crossed!
Loved the Moon !!
Thank you so much, Neha!
Fabulous eclipse image Deborah. I’m glad you were ready for it!
Thank you so much, Denise! I was prepared for it to go either way. I’m glad I didn’t get skunked again. 😀
Gosh, Deborah, your night sky photography is truly astonishing. I thought of you on the night of the eclipse when our skies were full of clouds and there was no lunar anything in sight…I hoped you were able to find it, and voila. Really great to see it through your lens. I love that rosiness that comes with the eclipse, and you captured it well.
Thank you so much, Jet! I’m glad you like the image. I’ve been skunked by clouds so many times for eclipses so I know how that feels. I’m glad I got a good peek at this one though.
Strange… I could have sworn that I commented on this post. November is certainly flying past. Anyhow I’m glad you got this great photo. Hugs on the wing.
Thank you so much , Teagan! 🥰 This month and year has been racing by! Hugs to you too!
I admire your passion and dedication for photography. Keep it up.
Thank you so much, Robert! 😀
I love the way you did this shot, beautifully done.
Thank you so much, John!
Wow! I saw a lot of eclipse pics, but yours is the best.
Thank you so much, Paul for this lovely comment! 😀
My goodness! This was ‘meant to be’, a perfect photo thanks to Mother Nature. Way to go getting up at 2:00 AM. It was worth it!!
Thank you so much, Jennie! 🥰
I love gazing at the moon and your photo is spectacular. I got up, saw the eclipse happen, but there were some clouds so I didn’t try to snap a pic. And even if I had tried, it wouldn’t be this wonderful.
Thank you so much, Ally! I’m going to float on this comment all day! I fully expected our sky to be cloudy as well. I was so surprised and delighted to find a clear sky!
The moon has never looked lovelier!!
Thank you so much, Rebecca! 😀
So cool! Great pic!
Thank you so much, Kendall!
Awesome photo!
Thank you so much, Diana!
You captured an amazing shot, and I always applaud your dedication. You are a wonderful photographer and show the rest of us how it can be done. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much, Judy! I’m going to float on this comment all day! 🥰
Oh, Deborah, your photo is stunning!!
Thank you so much, Donna! It was worth the early wake up alarm. 😀
Most definitely!!!!! We had cloudy skies…. 😦
Been there too! 😀
Such a wonderful photo, Deborah!
Thank you so much, Belinda!!
That’s a great photo. I am so glad you set your alarm and disregarded the forecast. We were under heavy cloud cover here. BTW, the link to your previous post takes me to the WP login page.
Thank you so much, Dan. I’m glad I set my alarm too, and really happy that Mother Nature delayed the snow until after the eclipse here.
Also, a big THANKS, for the feedback about the link. I think I fixed it…at least it works when I click it. Let me know if you’re still having a problem with it please.
The link works now.
Thank you!! 😀
Amazing shot, Deborah! Yes, we got about 4 inches of snow on Monday and it is super cold at night but sunny during the day! I will take that sunshine with the cold.
Thank you so much, Jill! Me too re: cold.😀
Lovely! What a magical moon we have.
She is indeed! Thank you so much, Janis!
I got to see a Central American foggy version here but she was lovely.
I’ve seen foggy Partials before so know how that goes. Yes, still lovely. Thank you so much, Cheryl! 🥰
We expect to see some snow pictures.
LOL! I didn’t take any yesterday!
Is today too late?
It might be a nice sunset. If so I’ll take a picture. All the snow down on the valley floor is melting already. 😭 Although it is easier to drive and/or walk.
How cool Deborah! What a wonderful picture!
Thank you so much, Peter!!
