I’m still packing. I probably will be taping up the last box and running it to the moving truck as they’re pulling down the door and revving up the engine to take off for my new home!
We’ve been taking stuff over that we think we’ll need before the movers arrive, and spending the night when we can. I’ve been waiting for Milky Way season to be back in our Hemisphere. What is she talking about the Milky Way is always there, you’re probably thinking. It is, but the Galactic Center is only visible in the Northern Hemisphere April through mid-September. I’ve been anxiously waiting to see how it will look from my new backyard/patio since I have a southern unobstructed view.
I set my alarm for the wee hours of the morning to find out. Lookie there! I was doing my happy dance.
There’s a lot more light pollution than I thought there would be, and the Moon while really low was 40 minutes from setting adding more light to the sky. The street lamps added our house and the neighbor’s shadows on the fairway below.
I’m already eyeing trails to explore for dark skies in the upcoming months.
The movers come in 9 days! I’m so ready to be moved and settled in.
Back to packing, and notifying those that need to know I’ve got a new mailing address.
I’m sure I’m forgetting someone.
Hope you all have a great week!

Thank you!
Wonderful shot !
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it.
Beautifully done, I enjoy this shot tremendously.
Thank you so much John!
Oh wow, Deborah!! Even with the light pollution you’ve got some stunning views there!!! I’d be sitting there staring at that sky constantly! Best of luck with the move.
LOL! That’s what we do!
Thank you so much Amy. It’s crunch time now the movers come on Thursday!
I’m still wowed! What a great view! We don’t see many stars in Indy.
I am so excited to have a view! Looks like I’ll still have to travel outside of town farther to get to the dark skies to see more stars too.
Beautifully captured Deborah! Good luck with your move.
Beautiful capture, Deborah! Best to you both on your move!
Gorgeous photo! Dark skies, fresh air, hiking trails, all the good things in life. Wishing you fun adventures ahead in your new place. It won’t be long and the pain of moving will be a distant memory.

Whoa, Deorah, an awesome shot! I remember the sky looking like that when our middle daughter and fam spent the night for the first time where we live now. They were so in awe, that they decided they needed to move to the country side (and they did, the next year). Hope the snow disappeared where you’re moving to? What an adventure! Wishing you the best, and a smooth transition!
If that’s the kind of shot you can pull off with less than ideal conditions, I think you are going to have a grand time in your new place!!
Good luck with your move. It’s been a long time in coming!
Wow, wow and wow! The “light pollution” aids in the dramatic effect of the photo:) Erica
Thank you so much Erica! I’m glad you like the view too.
Wow! And that will be your permanent view? Did I say WOW? Best to you and your new move, Deborah.
Yes, well, through late spring and summer. Thank you so much Jennie!
You are welcome, Deborah. Please send occasional photos of this view as seasons change.
Will do! I haven’t lived anywhere with “real” 4 seasons since I was an infant! I’m curious and excited to see them.
Looking forward to it, too!
Amazing photo!!!! I wish you all the best in the moving process.
Thank you so much Judy!
💕👏🏻Good luck with the rest of your move Deborah.
Thank you very much Cheryl! xx
Love your night shots. Have a happy move, it can be stressful.
It can be! Thanks so much Brian!
Nice! At least you won’t have to fight the coastal fog to do MW shots. You probably can get someone to wear a headlamp and go to a green on the golf course for your MW comp; I would volunteer but it would be a long drive (in the car and not the hitting the golf ball with a driver) from where I am. Happy days are here again! 🙂
Thank you Gordon! That’s a good idea, but there’s a catch. The golf course is private property and that someone would be trespassing!
Still we’ll find a good location for a nice shot.
That is a wonderful picture Deborah! I’ve never seen such a sky with my own eyes. I wish you a happy moving!
Really? Thank you so much Peter! I’ll be very happy when I’m moved and settling in.
Absolutely fantastic night sky: thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thank you so much Pit! I’m glad you like the image.
That’s a beautiful sky, Deborah. I sense you patiently waiting for a summer overnight power failure – on a clear night- brief, with no harm done, but long enough for you to get set up and snap a few pics.
Good luck with the packing, and best of luck with the move.
LOL! Just a teenie bit of me hopes for that.
Thank you so much Dan!
Beautiful shot, Deborah. All that extra light had to have been a challenge.
Thank you so much, John!
Wow – our new place does have a great “sky” view – and best wishes as you finish the move
Thank you so much!
