I’ve been going over to Baby Girl’s almost weekly since our Littlest was born, but whilst she was in the hospital on bedrest I spotted this little cabin and outbuilding one afternoon on my way home from the hospital and it has been on my radar since.
Knowing the full moon was upon us I did a quick search of my sun and moon tools to see if the moon would line up with the cabin because I was going to be at Baby Girls on Monday. Luck was with me it did line up! So, I got there early and set up to wait.
I didn’t wait for the Moon to get directly over the cabin because the shadows were getting longer and broader with each passing minute. By the time the Moon would have been right over or right of the cabin the shadows would have killed the golden light on the cabin. I learned that whilst waiting for the Moon to rise. I will keep that in mind when planning another shoot here.
See the nut trees in bloom behind the cabin? All the orchards are in bloom right now over here. It seems too early to me though. I hope a frost doesn’t come along and kill the buds.
OT- Some weeks back whilst I was staying at Baby Girl’s full time I passed my 9th year blogging/sharing my photos here on WordPress. 9 years! It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long at all. Thank you all so much for your likes, comments, and conversations throughout the years. I think of you as friends and appreciate your visits very much.
I hope you’re having a lovely week!

Super composition and good that you captured that golden light!
I appreciate your friendship too, Deborah! 😍 Nine years is an impressive record to be blogging!! 👍 I love this photo. It captures the light, the moon AND the mystery who lived here… WHAT was their story?! ❤️
I don’t know. I haven’t been able to find any infomation about it yet.
This shot is just wonderful, Deborah. Perfect, actually. And nine years? Yahoo! Congratulations. 😀
Thank you so much Jennie!
You are welcome, Deborah!
Love the photo! Makes me think of a country themed book story Ive read… Aah.
Thank you very much!
Happy 9 years. I like the way you narrate your photos.
Thank you so much Robert! I like the way you do art. 😃😃
Thank you, I’m glad to hear that. 🙂
Absolutely beautiful Deborah!! I love that gorgeous golden hour light! And I like where the moon lined up over the tree. Congrats on 9 years! That’s awesome!! 🙂
Thank you so much Amy!
So beautiful Deborah!
Thank you so much Cheryl!
💕
Beautiful photo Deborah and congratulations!
Congrats! Love the photograph!
Talk about a moon shot with character – you got it, lady. Wonderful. Hope the baby and big brother are both doing well. 🙂
Gorgeous light — great shot!
Congratulations on nine years!
Thank you so much Joey!
Very nice composition and capture of the golden hour! I think it’s better having the moon slightly offset. Congrats on your anniversary. I just discovered your blog about a year ago and am enjoying your words and images.
Gorgeous photo! Congratulations on your blogiversary. Nine years seems like forever in internet time. lol
PS – I don’t know how long I’ve been following you, but I have enjoyed every post – keep it up!
Thank you so much Dan, I have enjoyed your support and conversations over the years. I hope to be able to keep it up.
That’s a great photo, Deborah. I love the composition and the light.
Thank you so much Dan! I’m so glad you like it.
I’m going to add this to my list of favorite places to stop by when the light is good when visiting Baby Girl.
I would add that as a stop. And, I’m guessing you will visit more frequently now.
🙂 There’s a place the other direction with a wooden covered bridge, and water I need to get to too. That one I can see being a favorite stop too.
Wow, yes, that would make the list b
Outstanding job putting the timing and compose of this photo together, it resulted in a beautiful image!
Thank you so much John!
Your photo gave me goosebumps, Deborah, exceptionally beautiful! I agree with your words “Golden light”. I enjoy the visit to your site.
Thank you so much Erica! xx
Such a lovely capture and so much thought and effort put into it!! Congrats on your 9 year blogiversary grandma 😉👍❤️☺️
Thank you so much Jodi! xx
9 years! Wow. I hope you will blog on for another 9 (or 90) Deborah. Good to read your daughter and grandchild are doing fine. ‘Growing like a weed’. 🙂 That sounds like serious growing. We do have spring flowers already, but no blossems yet. That would be a bit to much asked. Still, winter it hardly was and it very likely won’t be anymore next weeks/months. Oh! And the picture is wonderful, the warm sun glow on the shack and the cool moon above. Very nice.
Thanks so much Peter! They’re both doing well, tired still, but healthy.
Are you having Tulips bloom already? Oh, to be there for that would be amazing!
Tulips? Not yet. But soon! 🙂
😃 🌷🌷
Terrific shot, Deborah. Glad the baby is doing well.
Thank you so much John! She’s tired but her recovery is going great. She is already back into her skinny jeans! That wasn’t me!
The phot was you. Do you mean skinny jeans?
Beautiful shot, Deborah, and congratulations on the 9 years. I’m over 7 now and I came to blogging a bit late. 🙂 I’m happy and thankful to read that Baby Girl is doing well. 🙂

Thank you so much Janet for your thoughts, and prayers for them! They’re both doing very well.
I was very surprised by the number of years when WP sent me a congratulations note. I had to look up the date of my first post to be sure it was 9 years. It was. 😃
You take the best photos, Deborah! This one is simply lovely. Congrats on 9 years of blogging. That’s awesome! I bet you are having so much fun with this new grand baby.
Thank you so much Camie! He’s so tiny, and soft. He’s a joy and a blessing.
9 years. I started out thinking I could blog or share a photo everyday, but that soon fell by the wayside. Once a week with an occasional extra post a week works best for me.
The time has flown by!
Posting every day is too much for me as well. I’m lucky right now to get one post out each week. I’m in a bit of a blogging slump, haha. I look forward to being a grandma someday.
Lovely photo, Deborah, nice golden lighting on the cabin is beautiful!
Thank you so much Donna! I’m feeling lucky that we had nice golden light on Monday. It could have been flat. I know you know how that goes. 😃🌕🌕🌞
Nice to see a post from you here this morning. I was thinking about you and wondering how the newest little one was doing 🙂
Congratulations on your blogging anniversary. It’s hard to believe time is going by so quickly!
Great photo of the golden light on the cabin. This month’s super-moon has been beautiful here. We’ve been given clear nights and the bright moonlight has been amazing.
Thank you so much Joanne! Our littlest is growing like a weed. He’s put on the weight he lost and more! He’s still so tiny and swims in his newborn clothes. 😃
I hope I am able to get some more photo of him in good light whilst he’s still sleeping a lot.
Your evenings watching the Super Moon sound lovely! By the time it gets to where I can see it from my windows it’s high in the sky and has lost the Big Super Moon feel. I have to out and hunt it down to see it near the horizon where it does look big.
Ohhh, nine years! Big congratulations! This is a lovely photo to celebrate. All trees in bloom is more than over here, we only have mimosa out yet. Last year we had snow at the end of February. No sign of it this winter. All good to all your family!
Thank you so much Manja! Congratulations to you too for your 50th consecutive post! That daily post challenge has always been too daunting for me to commit to. Weekly seems more my speed.
The family is doing well, and the baby is growing like a weed already happily!
Great to hear!
