I spent New Year’s Day in Yosemite National Park with 2 good friends. It’s a tradition of ours to get together for the New Year and photograph something good. There’s snow in Yosemite so we went there for the day.
Yosemite is magical in the Winter.
I made this image standing on Sentinel Bridge looking at Half Dome and the Merced River.
This image is part of Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness2.

Awesome photo. Well Done!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous photo :-). What a lovely place to spend the first day of the year! Is it less busy in the winter? I’ve been once, in June. Everything is so big and stunningly beautiful.
So far the winter is less busy than the Summer and fall months. Even in mid May there can be hordes of people in the Valley already. It’s beautiful all year so worth the crowds to see it at least once.
True :-). I usually don’t like crowds but Yosemite was amazing to experience for a few days anyway. Cool that you’ve experienced it in many seasons. Your winter photograph does look magical.
So beautiful! Really breath taking!
Thank you so much Melissa! Winter is my favorite season in Yosemite. Happy New Year!
So beautiful! What a lovely start to the year! 🙂
Thank you so much Lili! It is a fun way to start the year. Unfortunately schedules have kept us from getting together every Jan. 1st, but we try to make it work each year.
Beautiful! Happy New Year, Deborah!
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you too!
