P52 51/52 Christmas Cookies

I saw these in my grocery store’s Holiday magazine and thought they were cute so, I bought all the ingredients to make Gingerbread Cookies, and new cookie cutters in order to make them.
I think they’ll look great with the Gingerbread House I plan to make next.

Do you do a lot of Christmas or Hanukkah baking? Me. Some years I do a lot and others next to none.

Pumpkin Pie

I hope all those celebrating Thanksgiving had a lovely day, and are recovering from the “food coma”.  We have lots of left-overs and enjoyed turkey sandwiches today, and there’s still pie! Life is good! 🙂

I’m staying away from all stores this week-end. I’m shopping after this week-end and online. I don’t want to deal with parking, traffic, or the crowds. Did you brave the traffic, parking hassles, and crowds today? Did you score any really great bargains? I never have. I guess that’s why I don’t miss going.

Tomorrow I hope to put away the Thanksgiving decorations, and get our tree up. I think Big Baby Boy is going to put up the Christmas lights for us this year. What a blessing he is!

I wish you all a great week-end!

I’ve been cooking and preparing more meals at home since He-Man and I are “home bound” these days. He’s says I’m spoiling him. I am just a little because he deserves it.

Today’s lunch was on the lite side: a Turkey, Avocado sandwich on Multi-grain bread w/Jarlsberg cheese, tomato, and Wasabi Mayo. The Wasabi mayo is so good, but one must use caution when adding it. It can open up your sinus’ , make your eyes water, and take your breath away if you add too much. 🙂

I’m choosing this image for my Project 52 this week, because I don’t know if I’ll photograph anything else.

UPDATE on the RUFF! I read  a sad report on a birding forum that the Ruff was seen on the shore in its favorite corner of the salt pond this afternoon, but it has been wounded! The writer said blood was showing on both legs, and when it lifted its wings there was a wound under the wing. Speculation is the Falcon or Harrier that was seen there yesterday and this morning may have nicked it, his opinion is that the wound is fatal! Hoping that it will be rescued and nursed back to health.

Nature can be so cruel!

…Fresh Chili Peppers!

P52 35 of 52 Summer is

He-Man picked up a variety of chili peppers at the Farmer’s Market to make his Salsa. This batch is packing some heat that sweetens as it cools, and it has a good after-taste. We snacked on chips & salsa, and chased it down with little bottles of Corona Extra with a lime slice on top which you can’t see. Actually this turned out to be my dinner that night. Miam, miam!
