I was MIA with a post last week and reading yours. It was a busy week with lots of birding, a Gull ID field workshop, lunch and shopping with girlfriends, and a not so spontaneous overnight trip to Henderson, NV to see a rare bird. I’ll tell you more about that later.
I thought I’d use Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge to let you know I’m catching up with your blogs and getting back to my regular schedule of posting.
Here are two of my classic breakfasts. I made these images a long time ago but, they fit the challenge and I still eat these foods for breakfast most days.

This is part of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge or CFFC. If you’d like to participate head on over to see what’s coming up in the upcoming weeks, or add your own post about breakfast.

Looks yummy! I love oatmeal with homemade granola and lots of fresh berries.

Great food photography. Was the buffet something you set out? It’s so pretty!

Thank you so much, Denise! I had a bowl of fruit and yogurt with tea for breakfast and while eating I thought, ” this might make a good food composition for a still-life”. So after breakfast I set it up with fresh ingredients.

Love your pictures! Can’t believe they are from 2012/2013!

Thank you so much, Ilze! I don’t do still-life’s very often. I wait until an idea comes to my mind then I set about making the composition until it’s just as my mind’s eye sees it. It’s a lot of work! I don’t know how people who do it everyday are so creative and make it look so easy. 😊

That sounds like such a thoughtful and creative process! I can only imagine how much effort goes into getting everything just right. But the results must be so rewarding! 😊 I think creativity flows differently for everyone—some plan ahead, while others work spontaneously. Either way, your approach sounds wonderful!

If you set your table like that every day, I’m in awe. I enjoy oatmeal, but it’s never appeared looking like that on my breakfast table! (I saw your mention of steel cut oats. I have a recipe for baked oatmeal that uses them, and it’s delicious — and convenient, as the leftovers heat quite nicely.)

LOL! No, I don’t set my table up like this everyday. It set up the dining room table for dinner everyday though usually with some seasonal theme. I’ve got a Spring theme now.
I make my Steel Cut Oats in my InstantPot using the Pot in Pot method. I use a cup of Almond milk and reduce the water amount by a cup. It comes out so creamy. I make 5 servings at a time so it lasts the week and it reheats perfectly as well.

Sounds like you had a great week. 🙂 I was thinking about you the other night while watching a local program when they highlighted a NH bird photographer. I thought you might find her site interesting. https://www.dottyholcombdoherty.com/

It looks delicious Deborah! I think I can determine what is on the table in the below picture. But what is yummie-looking dish in the top image?
