Here are just a few images of some wildflowers I saw while birding last week.

Yellow seems to be the wildflowers blooming the most around here right now.
Here’s a Yellow-Rump Warbler I saw while on the same walk that fits the Yellow theme. 😊

more to come…
All about yellow! The warbler’s pine needle background came out great.

Nature is amazing isn’t it. The birds blend in so well into the foliage it’s really hard to spot them at all right now.
Thank you so much, Judy! 😊

I love yellow in nature! Funny, the Yellow-Rump Warbler doesn’t have a yellow rump.

Me too. It does have a yellow spot on its rump, but I rarely show it. Its nick name is Butter Butt named for that yellow spot on the rump. 😊

Yellow is a great spring/summer color, Deborah. These photos are great. The Yellow Salsify is a beautiful flower.

Isn’t the Salsify pretty. I love it in Pink. Thank you so much, Dan, while out birding yesterday I took as many wildflower images as I did bird photos! Everything is blooming right now. I thought more than once I needed two camera one for birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and one for flowers.
Next week I hope to do that. I saw a Mountain Peony for the first time just opening. Tuesday it might be gorgeous.

Do you have to change lenses when moving from birds to flowers?
LikeLike
No, I don’t bother changing lenses. I can get a decent close up if I crop in post. My lens has a 10ft minimum focusing distance. I used to carry two cameras all the time, but it gets really heavy fast. I wish my cell phone camera was better at close ups and macro.
I’ll take my Nikon Df with my 50mm or lens baby next week when I go back. That’ll be a fairly light rig, still heavy with my D850 and 500mm too, but better than my cell phone camera.

The weight is what moved me to a point and shoot. After I injured my neck/shoulders, I couldn’t carry a camera bag for very long.

I totally get that! I needed Tylenol after yesterday’s 4+plus hours hike just carrying one camera/lens and a small sling back for it.

No wonder Vincent van Gogh’s favourite colour was yellow. Fabulous photos of wildflowers!!

Did you notice the caterpillar in your first flower? I suspect that’s where some of the holes came from. The post as a whole reminded me of this wonderful song from more than a half-century ago.

I did notice a bug but, didn’t realize it was a caterpillar! Something was definitely enjoying those leaves for meals.
That’s a great folk song.

The name salsify makes me think of hot sauce (salsa).
We’ll take your word for it that the yellow we can see on the front and side of the warbler has a counterpart in the rear.

It’s nickname is Butter Butt because of it’s yellow spot on the rump. 😊
