  1. Hope this one goes through. I don’t see my comment I tried to post yesterday and I think I did it right. Anyway, beautiful photograph! We are seeing a lot of swallowtails, too!

  2. Beautiful captures Deborah. We never see beautiful Butterflies much here at all, most are further north in the more tropical climates. I love the Swallowtails they are some of the prettiest.

        1. I discounted my cellphone thinking the image wouldn’t be any good. I’ve got 2 females and one male Black-chinned Hummers squabbling over the feeder but, they didn’t see the Butterfly that I’m aware of so it was able to drink in peace.

  3. Both of these seem pristine: brand new beauty on the wing. I noticed the milkweed, too. It looks like it might be a species I’ve only seen in the midwest: the showy milkweed. The apparent height and the leaves were clues.

    1. There were so many flying and soaring around the river that morning. One flitted by me and nearly landed on my finger when I offered it, but it flew on. It was lovely. I didn’t know what this bush was called but, after you mentioned Showy Milkweed I looked it up and it’s common for my region and looks just like this. Thank you for the plant ID and lovely comment!! 😀
