Whatever Weds. Fog, Clouds, and a Hawk

We’ve had fog, and storm clouds the last week through the week-end up until last night. We also got a whole lot of snow. Here are a couple of images of the scenery. Recently the mornings have been foggy.

Foggy morning-

Clouds-After the storm had passed I looked out the window and saw Job’s Peak just peeking out from the clouds, and this brilliant cloud on the left lit by the afternoon sun.

Last week I took advantage of a break in the storm to go run some errands, and on my way home I spied this beauty in a tree on my street.

Red-tail Hawk-

We have cloudy skies in the forecast for the rest of the week. Temperatures are forecasted to be lows in the teens, and highs in mid 30’s I hope that holds so I can get out to do some birding and meet up with some friends.

I hope your week is going well, and you have a lovely week-end too!

  1. Fog always makes for nice photos and yours is great. It is fun to watch the clouds and mountains play together. Really nice catch on the Red tail too. I hope your overcast days don’t last to long.

  2. Our place is still draining water saturated grounds an last night we had one last downpour that didn’t last too long. After and before storms are great times to capture landscapes and looks like you’re getting some good captures. And, it looks like you got a head start on us for birding! Safe travels and let’s hope the roadways aren’t too muddy this weekend!

    1. We got another 1-2 inches of snow last night. I hope that’s it for awhile so I can get over the mountains! I’m bringing a trash bag to put my muddy boots in.
      You drive safely too!

      See you Saturday!

  3. I enjoy walking with you and feeling the fog swirl around me, seeing the hawk coming into view. You reminded me of one of my favourite quotes by John Muir, “I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.”

  4. Wonderful photographs, Deborah! The hawks’s head neatly next to the twig. We finally had two days of sunshine after almost two weeks of very wet, watercold weather. This week might be some snow due and frost at night. Not really winter but everything better then the greyness of the past weeks. Have a good second half of the week!

    1. We have sun today too, but it’s cold! It was only 3 degrees F when I got up this morning! Then it dropped down to 1! That’s the coldest it’s been since I moved here. BRRRR!

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

      Thank you, Peter!
