First time I am hearing and seeing this … very cool specimens and great capture!

Thank you so much, Denise! I would have thought you would have them there in the mountains since a lot of our flora and fauna are the same in many ways.

Another great photo. I don’t know that I’ve seen Ranger’s Button before. Most unique

They are different and unique aren’t they. Thank you so much, Ally!

I’ve never heard of ranger’s button. Apparently it’s Sphenosciadium capitellatum, the only species in its genus, and a member of the carrot family.

I’ve seen them before in CA and now here in No. NV but never knew their name until this year. They’re neat aren’t they and I love that they’re unique. Thanks for their scientific name! I never remember those. 😂

A beautiful capture Deborah, love the background, and off-centre positioning of primary object. These kinds of wildflowers are my favorite, here in Auss as well, they are so unique and different to standard European flowers, they speak of a very different and more robust and rugged mountain environment.

I always wondered what it was called. Very pretty! I love how you captured it against the sunlight.
