First time I am hearing and seeing this … very cool specimens and great capture!
Thank you so much, Denise! I would have thought you would have them there in the mountains since a lot of our flora and fauna are the same in many ways.
Another great photo. I don’t know that I’ve seen Ranger’s Button before. Most unique
They are different and unique aren’t they. Thank you so much, Ally!
I’ve never heard of ranger’s button. Apparently it’s Sphenosciadium capitellatum, the only species in its genus, and a member of the carrot family.
I’ve seen them before in CA and now here in No. NV but never knew their name until this year. They’re neat aren’t they and I love that they’re unique. Thanks for their scientific name! I never remember those. 😂
Lovely to be in the high Sierras with you, Deborah, celebrating this unusual wildflower.
Thank you so much, Jet! 😀
Since having lived in Pioneer I love wild flowers. These are so pretty! Emille (Jesh)
They are aren’t they! Thank you so much, Jesh!
It has it’s own loveliness!
Thank you, Donna! It does doesn’t it.
So strange, yet beautiful. Amazing blog you have got! Loved it😀
Thank you so much, Bookworm!
A beautiful capture Deborah, love the background, and off-centre positioning of primary object. These kinds of wildflowers are my favorite, here in Auss as well, they are so unique and different to standard European flowers, they speak of a very different and more robust and rugged mountain environment.
Thank you so much, Ashley! I’m glad you liked this different flower. I just learned its name this season!
The clarity is beautiful here against the blurred backdrop, Deborah!❤️
Thank you so much, Erica!! I’m glad you like it. 💕
Great photo, Deborah. I love the close-up and the background effect.
Thank you so much, John! 😀
I always wondered what it was called. Very pretty! I love how you captured it against the sunlight.
Thank you, Jennie! I just learned its name myself this season thanks to a new birding friend. I’m glad you like it too. 😀
You’re welcome, Deborah! Here’s to birding friends! 😀
🥰
Pretty against that background!
Thank you so much, Belinda! 😀
That’s a stunning photo, Deborah. It looks like the whole world is fading out.
Thank you so much, Dan!
Lovely… Especially the sharper close details against the muted background buds.
Thank you so much!! 😀
