I like how you included more of the night sky and some stars. It gives you a better picture of what it looked like rather than boxing the moon in like many detail photos I see.

I too have to wait for the moon to crest the mountains about 35-40minutes after it rises.

Top notch portrait of the moon. The gear used is a very capable set of Nikon, a favourite, but that alone wouldn’t lead to a beauty necessarily.

I didn’t even know about this but as the skies were completely cloudy (and even provided a bit of rain) last night here in Illinois, I guess it didn’t matter. Thanks for sharing this glorious shot of it so I didn’t feel as though I missed something. 🙂 ❤

Thank you so much, Janet! I’m not positive but where you are now you would have only seen a partial eclipse if you were able to see it with a clear sky.
There’s a partial Lunar Eclipse on my son’s birthday in November I’m hoping we can see. I’ll figure that out as we get closer to the date.

Yes, it would have been a partial lunar eclipse in that area. Statistically, since the year 2000, the 26th of May has been cloudy 72% of the time in that area. 😮
