I got home Thursday night and saw a friend was having a Meet Up to photograph the Wild Mustard that is in bloom here now, and the sunset. I signed up to go straight-away. I’ve been missing my camera time quite a lot.
It was so good to get out with friends old and new to converse, hear the birds, see the fields of wild mustard, and a lovely sunset.
This was our last stop for the evening; in a vineyard looking west over the wild mustard and vines as the sunset cast its last light on the Santa Cruz mountains and valley below.
I hope you all have a lovely rest of the week!

If there is anything more than beautiful. Then it has to be this shot. ❤️
Thank you so much Ayesha!!
Gorgeous! I love the sky and the sea of yellow flowers. And the fence posts actually look really good too! 🙂
Thank you so much Myriam!
Beautiful as always 🙂
Thank you so much, John!
it looks a wonderful place to be! Beautiful!
Thank you so much Hannah!
Beautiful and so peaceful. I could breathe that in.
Thank you so much Joey!
I love this shot, Deborah!! It’s so gorgeous!!
Thank you so much Amy!
So beautiful. Sigh! Thank you for this post and gorgeous photo, Deborah!
Thank you so much, Jennie for the lovely comment. I’m glad you like the image.
Your Wednesday images make my day. 🙂
Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome, Deborah!
Wow! Stunning photo, Deborah! I don’t think I have ever seen fields of wild mustard. On our prairies we can see fields of yellow canola flowers. Living on the West coast I have only seen them on a road trip. I do love Spring.
Thank you so much, Erica! I don’t think I’ve seen the fields of canola flowers, only corn and wheat when I drove through the prairie states on our epic trip in the mid-eighties.
I do love Spring too, then Fall.
The colors so beautiful and your photo is stunning, Deborah! WOW!! I could stare at this a long time! 😊❤️
Oh, thank you so much, Jill! That’s a lovely compliment!!
A perfect ending to the day, really lovely!
It was. Thank you so much, Belinda!
Wonderful image! Time away certainly hasn’t hampered your skills!
Thank you so much, Denise!
What a beautiful sky. I’m not sure if we have wild mustard here in Ireland but that looks very like what we call ‘rapeseed’ and it’s cultivated here to produce edible oil.
Thank you so much, Jean! It was pretty that evening.
I had to look up rapeseed to see how close they are to our Mustard. They’re related! Wikidif even says our wild mustard was introduced via Europeans. So it’s not even native!
My take is that Mustard produces seed pods, and Rapeseed grain. You’re right the flowers look very much alike!
Aha! Thanks for looking it up, Deborah. The climate in Ireland suits it well, so there are fields and fields of it here in the summertime.
Here too in Spring. Right now in some places it was nearly chest high! It grows so fast!
Oh so beautiful, Deborah!
Thank you so much Donna!
Great image!
Thank you so much, Brian!
Mean mister Mustard, the Beatles sang. But mustard is gentle and golden in the setting sun. Wonderful picture this is Deborah. Good to see a nice wide angle lens used.
Oh, what a cool reference to the mustand Peter!
I love my wide angle lenses. That’s me wide or long all. the. time. I rarely use any mid-range lengths. 😁📷
Nice capture of the sunset, vineyard and mustards. Too bad I missed the event!
It was so lovely seeing your Mrs. and your S-i-L there, but we missed you!
Thank you so much, Gordon. Hope to see you before I move. I’m going to need some camera time. Perhaps you, me and B can do some wildflower hunting during the week?
Welcome home!
Thank you so much, Cheryl! It’s been so nice despite all I’m doing is packing.
Gorgeous!!
Thank you so much, Jodi!
A beautiful sight, Deborah. Our daughter in Pasadena said the wildflowers are spectacular this year. I look forward to seeing some here in the not-too-distant future (at least I hope not too far.)

Thank you so much , Janet!
Oh, man, they’re calling another year of the SuperBloom! The poppies and wildflowers in SoCAL are said to be fantastic again so much so that there are hordes of people down there.
Did you read about the town Lake Elsinore closing the town due to the crowds? It was awful for them the paper said, but then the businesses who made a lot of money off the wildflower loving crowd faught back and now they’re going to open the city again this weekend so the towns bussinesses can make money. Money Talks!
I think they’re going to be shuttling people out to the flower fields though to mitigate illeagal and over crowded parking.
I wish I could go again this year, but I’m too busy packing and getting ready for the move.
No, I didn’t hear about it. I’ll have to look it up. But serendipitous, today at the thrift store, I found a greeting card with a photo of a superbloom. Awesome…in the true sense of the word!
I missed the move bit. Where are you moving to
Here’s the article link. I have a good friend that lives in SOCAL who went to Lake Elsinore on Friday before the crowds showed up. Another friend who lives near me went on Saturday the day this article was talking about. She said it was pretty nuts with people.

We’re moving to our house in NV. We signed with a realtor to sell our house here, We have a dumpster arriving soon, and I’m packing, packing, packing, and sorting.
That’s such a lovely photo, Deborah. The sun is at a perfect place – I love the light!
Thank you so much, Dan! It was so pretty.
That light…it gets me too. Every time. I love it too.
When we lived in Sonoma this was a familiar sight. Thanks for the memories, Deborah. Gorgeous photo.
Thank you, John! It’s so nice not having to go all way up to Napa or Sonoma to find vineyard these days the South Bay has some nice ones too.
That is nice, Deborah.
Mind you, after I’ve moved I’m going to appreciate the images of home that awaken my memories of Santa Clara Valley too. I’m already getting a bit nostalgic, but I’m sure it’s the packing and reality setting in. I’m really going to move again after staying in this house for nigh on 38 years!
Oh my goodness. You are very brave.
Who knew mustard could be so beautiful. 🙂 Hope all is well with the family and everyone will get to have a wonderful spring. 🙂
I know right! I’m hoping to get to the coast to see the Wild Mustard and Wild Radish that grow and blend together before I move, but time is racing on!
Thank you so much for your thoughts and support! We’re taking it one day at a time. I hope you have a lovely Spring too! xx
