    1. Thank you so much Denise!

I use both. On this trip we drove slowly around the auto-route and looked for birds and other wildlife. There are pull-outs where you can park and observe that I will utilize if there are birds around or I know from past experience a certain bird likes to hang out around that spot then I’ll hang out a bit and wait to see what comes along.

If there are walking paths or observation decks I use those too.

Last week I drove to a place I’d seen a Tufted Titmouse pair while walking earlier that morning. When I got back and parked using my car as a blind, my camera ready, the birds never showed up, but lots of American Goldfinch did. 🙂

  1. Such a great detail! (better than cute:):) ) meanwhile, I read you text your post below about the flooded area of Merced – so I know now where it is, lol!

    1. Thank you Dan! He was! I wish I had video just then to try to record the song. Then I thought I’d add a MP3 sound track of one singing with this post, but found I need to upgrade to Premium and figure out how to do add it to a post. Something to add to my goals for this year. 🙂

  2. And isn’t he belting it out! It looks like he”s taken to stilts just to get a bit of extra distance on those high notes. 🙂
A lovely shot, Deborah. You do post uplifting images which never fail to put a smile on my face 🙂

      1. I was never particularly interested in wildlife, probably too busy but with Susan and your photography/blog my eyes and mind have been opened. 🙂
