A few weeks ago I had a first time visitor to the little feeder which turned into a bird bath after the rainy week. I was thrilled to see the Western Bluebird in my yard!
Well, she like the temperature, and atmosphere so she decided to stay and have a bath. Luckily my camera was nearby.
Eyeing up the tub, and making sure the coast is clear overhead…

At her toilette

“Do you mind! I’m bathing here!” That look really got me thinking…”man I’m a voyeur!” 🙂

All clean! She had a good shake and flew away after this image was taken. I hope she comes back!

I took these images through the window so they’re a bit soft. I used the dehaze feature to help that a bit. It’s a pretty neat feature!

We had bluebirds nest in our yard in Southern New Jersey. I love them so much and used to cry when the babies didn’t succeed and even when they fledged. When moving to Western Colorado I was so happy to see that we have both Western and Mountain Bluebirds here. I saw one this morning… so bright against the white snow. Beautiful post!

She does have that look. I think you should have offered her a warm towel. She is a beauty.

Thank you so much Lynn for that lovely compliment! I don’t think I can paint. I try, but think it’s something I will be trying to learn the rest of my life. Photography is SO MUCH EASIER! 🙂

It is a neat feature but then, the softness suits the subject really well I think. How wonderful to see a Western Bluebird AND to have had your camera at the ready. Wow!

Thank you so much Melissa! I don’t always have my camera ready, and I should learn to. A lot of times I run to get it, and by the time I get back the bird is gone. Sigh.
