Twilight and Crescent Moon over Vasona Lake

Sunrises the last couple of mornings have been really pretty with a lot of color, so I thought I’d go out to the lake and see if this morning would have color as well.
The waning crescent moon I knew wouldn’t be lined up over the bridge, but I do like the triangle the tree, moon, and bridge make. There was fog outside my house when I left and driving to the lake there were pockets of clear skies, I hoped the lake would have fog and mist. I got lucky with both color, and the fog today.

I got out shooting very little in December, but did get out to a refuge in the Pacific Flyway one day. My friend Dali and I were lucky enough to see this Bald Eagle and another one just outside the frame. In fact I was busy photographing the other Eagle and didn’t see this one at first as it was behind a branch. I heard Dali say,” Is that? What is that? Oh! It’s another Eagle with a catch! Come see!” So of course I moved to see then started photographing this one. He gave me the eye then continued eating. What a neat and exciting bird to see and photograph it is.

It was a great day of birding photography.
