When passing near Area 51 one does wonder.

We passed this store on the way down to Henderson, NV and knew we’d have to stop on our way home. It’s got an ice cream shop, and lots of souvenirs all on the Area 51 theme. It’s a fun stop along the journey.
This post is part of the weekly challenge Thursday Doors hosted by Dan Antion over at https://nofacilities.com/2025/03/13/east-hartford-detour/
Hop on over there to see more doors from around the world or join the craze and add a door or two of your own. 😊

This is hilarious! I think if aliens stopped here they’d sue for defamation of character.

Ha! OMG, I love this. The color of green that they painted the building made it even funnier. Thanks for this smile, Deborah. Hugs.

It was fun. I hope we never find aliens and they don’t find us. I have a lot of reasons for thinking the way I do.

I always knew that we are not alone in this universe. LOVE the photo, Deborah.

Speaking of doors, these Doors have just the song for your door into a world of very strange people.

LOL! I knew it would be that song by the Doors! Great song, and choice.

Quirky places like this are either fun or dumb or some combination thereof. 😁

So true. This one had stuff one might want like ice cream, or a sandwich in addition to souvenirs. They have a ton of T-shirts Area 51 Alien Store designs to choose from. If you route is 95 up here you’ll see it and you can stop in. 😊👽

Not sure, but I’ll check. However, it will be a long day even with just gas/bathroom stops so we’ll see.

I love crazy roadside stops like that too! We visited Roswell last spring but, sadly, missed this gem.

Us too. I’ve never been to Roswell. I bet it’s a neat place to visit.

I love offbeat attractions like this! We’ve never been to area 51 but we’ve been to Roswell, New Mexico before. It’s another fun place with Aliens.

Us too. I was just saying to Janis I’ve never been to Roswell. One day we’ll have to go back to New Mexico and check it out.

An interesting place Deborah, what does an Alien Centre sell ? Do they have any stories to tell ? I guess if it is unique it will attract attention.

They had a little mini mart for snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, lots of Area 51 Alien Store themed t-shirts, and lots of other souvenir stuff…tchotchkes. Just being in the vicinity of Area 51 and the way they decorated the exterior brings people in I’m sure.

LOL! Thanks, Dan! It’s a fun place to stop and stretch your legs and see all the stuff they have. It’s hard to walk out empty handed…we didn’t. 😊

The green of the building does make one want a pistachio icecream. 🙂 I just read on Wikipedia about Area 51 being a long kept secret militairy place, but what is the alien bit? Where there flying saucers spotted?

Oh, let me tell you! Legend has it that an alien spaceship crash landed I don’t know where, but the military got to it and found aliens and their remains are being kept at Area 51. There are lots of so, so secret things going there. I don’t even think what’s on the map is where Area 51 really is.

Thanks for the explanation Deborah! So an extra extra secret place, how interesting! Does it really even excist? There could be feature movies made about this! 🙂

Ha! Great minds! There have been movies made about it or featuring it. Check this out for a start.

The map shows it’s not too far from Death Valley. A trip to the national park someday might warrant a detour to the Area 51 Alien Center, now that your post has made me aware of it.

Death Valley in late winter or early Spring is fun place to explore. The Alien Store would be a fun side trip.
