VERY pretty Deborah! We’ve had some afternoon clouds and a little rain too … the monsoons have finally kicked in. Smoky here today which puts a damper on landscape photography, especially when feeling the need to get out!

Thank you so much, Denise! I hope the smoke clears for you. The summer before last we were stuck indoors due to all the smoke from raging fires in Calif.

Absolutely beautiful, Deborah! The sun went below the horizon yet the light still shone through the clouds. The light changes quickly during this jour. You captured the perfect light, clouds, sky, and the reflection in the pond.

Very nice. Soon you will be getting some rain and wind from storm Hilary.

Thank you, Robert!! It started drizzling about a half hour ago. It’s predicted to start really raining by midnight. The wind will come too but here we’re used to wicked wind.

Delightful capture, Deborah. I love the division of land and sky you selected.

Thank you so much, Dan! It was so radiant and beautiful. We don’t get this kind of light and color all that often.

Stunning capture! Your photo reminded me of one of my favourite quotes by John Lubbock: “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”

Calm before the storm! Mother Nature can be tricky when she tries to see who is watching/listening to her warnings. But as we know, sometimes the best lighting and clouds are before and after the storms. Take care and stay safe!

It’s been almost like a monsoon season here this summer. Everything is greener than usual which is lovely.

We’re going to get the wind and rain but, we’re used to high wind here as we get wicked Zephyr winds all year round.
I did take my outdoor umbrella down and we have grill weighted down because the first year here the wind moved it across the patio and tipped it over 3 times before we figured out the best spot and right weight limit to hold it place despite the wind. 30 mph wind here is normal
Mark Twain described the Zephyr wind accurately in his book Roughing it. 😂
