How wonderful! I miss the Great Horned Owl we had in the neighborhood. It was so cool to hear it hooting at night.
In the summer we’ve had an owl in one of the trees out back hooting at night but, I’ve never been able to find it. I like to think it’s one of family members from the owlets I’ve seen by the river coming over after the owlets have fledged.
Absolutely adorable, Deborah, love this capture!
Thank you, Donna! I was so happy to see them. I have been by many times but, they weren’t out of the nest cavity.
Owls are so interesting. And, apparently, fuzzy. 😁
Aren’t the fuzzy chicks cute! Thank you, Paul!
Wow, what a find! Terrific photo, Deborah, and completely adorable.
Aren’t they cute! Thank you so much, Jet!
It IS an amazing find! They seem to have such terrific camouflage that a less discerning eye might not have caught them!
I hope we get to see more photos of them as they grow up?
Me too! Often when I go by they’re deep in their hole and you can’t see them at all.
Beautiful pair, Deborah! It is great when you come upon owl chicks.
It was so cool to see them! Thank you so much, John!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Thank you so much, Robert!! 😀
Oh, sweetness!
Aren’t they!! 😀
I hope they don’t mind if I say, they rock the cute meter. Great photo.
I don’t think they’d mind. Thank you so much, Judy! 😀
Nice find!!
Thank you so much, Gordon! I’ve gone back several times since spying the Adult Female in the nest back in late March but, never could see them or the adult until yesterday when I finally got to see the two owlets outside the nest!
Is there still an owl nesting in GGP where we saw them before?
I don’t think the owls are at the same tree in GGP; they pruned the tree and there’s construction going on enlarging the lake where the owls owls flew to hide. They might be elsewhere in GGP. Sadly, I stayed away since reading all the bad news of photographers behind assaulted and robbed of their gear.
I hope the owls found another tree to nest in and I hope the crime goes down in SF too so photographers, and everyone can feel safe there again.
How truly wonderful.
They really are wonderful aren’t they! Thanks, Robert!
This is exactly the owlets in the classic children’s book, Owl Babies! Sarah and Percy are there, and Bill must be close by on a branch of ivy. Terrific, Deborah!
Thank you so much, Jennie! I haven’t read that book!
You are welcome, Deborah. Honestly, the author of the book must have seen something like your wonderful photo.
🤗
What gorgeous captures Deborah, so cute and cuddly.
They are cute!! Thank you so much, Ashley!!
Aren’t they wonderful 😊. Excellent photo, Deborah!
They are! Thank you so much, Belinda!! 😀
If it gets cold you can wrap these owlets
In a couple of soft warm towelettes.
LOL!!
They seem unsure wether they like the world yet or not. 🙂 Great photo Deborah!
It’s much to early for them as they’re nocturnal and I’m sure my friend and I were keeping them up. Momma was deep down in the nest sleeping..so deep I never saw her. 😀
They are adorable, Deborah. Great photo!
Thank you, Dan! I was happy they were out today. I’ve been by their nest 3 times in the last 3 weeks hoping to see them, but kept missing(they were hunkered down) them until today. It’s sunny out today so they decided to get some I guess.
Too cute for words! ❤️❤️❤️
They are aren’t they! Thank you, Janet! 😍
They are so cute. Thanks, Deborah. An amazing shot.
They are aren’t they!! Thank you so much, John.
