The shade of purple in that lupin is amazingly intense. Refreshing to see.

Oh, I can’t wait to see your painting of Lupine!
BTW Nº1 Grandson called your latest Weird Bird Weds. Dollar Turkey because one of her tail feathers reminded him of a dollar bill. 😀🦃

Beautiful pictures, Deborah, especially the sunset over the mountains. I’ve been curious about your references to “digital film.” I finally got around to asking the googles, but I still can’t figure it out. Can you explain what it is, and the advantages?

Thank you so much, Janis! Digital Film is the memory card I use. I got into the habit of listing film back in my film days so I just made the transition to listing which “digital film” I’m using. I should probably list the speed of it, and the rest of my image settings, but I get lazy.
Advantages- I prefer the fastest cards for their quick read/write properties.
A slower card will transfer your images from the card to your computer a lot slower than a faster card, and when shooting in burst mode my card keeps up with me and my camera.
Brands- I prefer Lexar, and Hoodman. SanDisk is popular, but since there were a lot of SanDisk memory card knockoffs on the market several years ago I moved from that brand and just haven’t moved back to it.
Bottom line- I just call my memory card digital film.

We wallowed in lupine this year at the cabin and it was wonderful! As for sunsets, the mountains have some spectacular ones as your beautiful shot proves. Happy Wednesday, Deborah.

There were lots of Lupin and Mule’s Ears here this Spring/Summer. It was wonderful!
The Pinenut Mountains get more color than the Eastern Sierras up here, but I’m patient I’m waiting. 😀

The mountain photo is so beautiful. Funny, I don’t associate the mountains with fabulous sunsets. You’ve just proven otherwise!

Thank you so much, Joanne! It seems great and lasting color in the Eastern Sierras up here isn’t a Spring/Summer thing, but the Pinenut Mountains are getting some. I’m waiting for the color over Jobs Peak. I just hope I’m here for it!

Oh, these are beautiful, Deborah, especially that sky at sunset. Pretty enough that I won’t even hold it against you that I have James Taylor stuck in my head.

LOL! Thank you, Dan! I have that song in my head too. I think we need the next line to get it unstuck. 😂

I listened to it once. Then had to run an errand and had the station in my car tuned to a local country one; after that the ear worm vanished! 😀🎵

Good morning, Deborah:) Lupins always remind me of the Great Outdoors! A sunset unlike any others. Beautiful! I will be thinking about you over the next couple of weeks……….tripod packed:)

Morning Erica! I love finding Lupins on the trails. This particular trail had lots and lots of them. It was lovely. The clouds and colors were quite beautiful last week.
Best of luck with your tripod! Just keep telling yourself you brought it so use it! Soon it will be second nature and you’ll miss not having it. The extra weight…can be challenging at times, but I think it’s worth it.
Leaving soon? Safe journey and have loads of fun! In case I don’t tell you when the time comes!
