In June when some friends and I went out to see the Wild Mustangs in the Eastern Sierras we found the fields pretty swampy. We definitely needed our Wellies or Muck boots out there to keep our feet dry, but the Wild Iris loved the swampy environment.

It’s mostly peaceful for humans and horses alike out here until…a Stallion gets upset about another stallion near a mare that’s his, or he wants her, or he just wants to be King of the Pasture then it can get exciting!

They got wet!
The flirtatious Stallion was run off and all was peaceful again.

I hope you all have a peaceful Wednesday and a great rest of the week!

Thank you so much, Hannah! How are you? I’m seldom on Flickr since they changed their TOS and pricing policy. I hope all is going well and you are springing back! xx

Stunning views of the horses and the irises, Deborah! Convict lake in your post below is very pretty! Could only stay for half of the show time of the Art event, (it was going on for 2 weeks) but got to see the closest friends, and made a few new friends!
Now I can visit you:) let me know what good times would be . my new email is junie15blooms at yahoo.

Cool mustang shots! Hope no one fell into the swamp this time!
Guess you heard the runt eaglet died last week; I didn’t even see them fledge but if I get a chance on Saturday I’ll look for them. Been in WA shooting and hope I got some keepers. Did get some doorscursions done for future TD posts. 🙂

Thank you Gordon! No, no one fell into the swamp this time! 🤣
Oh no! I had not heard that one of the Eaglets died. How sad! I saw a couple of Anna’s images of an Eaglet on the ground and flying so, I thought all was well in the nest.
I hope you got lots of keepers and I’m looking forward to your future TD posts!

Thank you so much, Dan! Many times the action is so fast by the time you hear it, turn around, whip the camera into place they’re done squabbling so I miss it. 😁 This time they were really serious so I managed to get some action.

It was lovely! It’s mostly quiet, but these little spats add some excitement to a bit of Wild Mustang viewing.
The Wild Irises are so pretty! We were lucky to find so many still at peak.
