P52 14 of 52 Easter Cupcakes

Thanks to Betty Crocker these were a breeze to make. 🙂 I found the little Bunny decorations at Michael’s several weeks ago. They’re made by Wilton.

I’m really looking forward to Easter this year because #1 Grandson will be more into it, and he should love the Easter Egg Hunt, and his Easter Basket.

Happy Easter!

If you don’t celebrate it I hope you have a great Sunday!

Gingerbread House

It’s been a long time since I last made/decorated a Gingerbread house.

Gingerbread House

This time I bought a Gingerbread House kit to save me some time fooling around with a template, and measuring and marking the doors, and windows myself. As it turned out this particular kit didn’t have the door or windows stamped on the Gingerbread so I ended up having to do that anyway. It also didn’t have enough icing. Next time I’ll make my own Royal Icing. Piping, icing, and working with fondant is challenging. I need a lot more practice, but it was fun watching the transformation from plain Gingerbread to the finished house, and I think my Gingerbread Christmas Trees look pretty good with the house, and next year I’ll make a couple taller trees too.

I saw these in my grocery store’s Holiday magazine and thought they were cute so, I bought all the ingredients to make Gingerbread Cookies, and new cookie cutters in order to make them.
I think they’ll look great with the Gingerbread House I plan to make next.

Do you do a lot of Christmas or Hanukkah baking? Me. Some years I do a lot and others next to none.

P52 48/52: Give Thanks

I have so much to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving. He-Man is recovering from the knee surgery really well, and he’s allowed to put weight on the leg now. He starts physical therapy tomorrow!

Big Baby Boy is on his way home for a long week-end, and Baby Girl has the day off and she too is home for the holiday along with #1 Grandson.

I’m Thankful for their health, a roof over our heads, plenty of food to keep us nourished, and warm coats, but most of all I’m thankful that we’re all together, and our little family is still together, and we enjoy being together.

I’m thankful for you Dear Friends for your unwavering friendship, love, support and encouragement to never give up on my dreams and goals.

Give ThanksMay your heart be filled with joy, and thankfulness on this Thanksgiving Day.

After spending a delightful morning and afternoon at the Dickens Fair my friend Alex and I headed up to the city to photograph the skyline all lit up for Christmas. It’s a bit hard to tell here, but the Trans America (Pyramid Bldg) has a red light on top for Christmas. Also, in this photo are the towers of Embarcardero Center, the Ferry Building, and way over to the right is Nob Hill. I was freezing! It dipped to the mid-30’s while we were photographing here.

While I have my stand with umbrella out I thought I’d compose a couple of still life scenes with a Valentine’s theme.

I purchased a kit of CTO gels for my Speedlight, and have been playing with those too. I hope to create something good enough to share in the future.

I bought the Rogue Universal Filter Kit.
The gels go on easily, and seem to be of good quality. This is my first gel kit, so we’ll see.
I bought my kit at a  local camera store, but Amazon has it too.
