A cold but beautiful morning in the valley. As I stood here taking this shot the snow on the trees around me was melting and dripping on me and the camera.
The D300s and I got pretty wet this trip.

I went to Safari West last week-end with 9 members of a Meet-Up group. We are photographers. Safari West is a little slice of Africa in Santa Rosa, CA.
What a neat experience it was to see so many different and exotic birds, and animals up close. Many of the birds and animals roam freely through the park where we drove. We stopped right next to a giraffe, zebras, and a we had a close encounter with a female ostrich. She didn’t want us to leave so she cleverly positioned herself near the gate so we couldn’t drive through. We ended up backing up and going out a different way. Which turned out wonderfully. I wouldn’t have seen the swan in this post if we hadn’t gone this way.

I went to Safari West with 9 others in my Meet-up group. We rode in an open expedition jeep. Taking turns to ride on top. It was a fun day filled with lots of laughter, and sightings of some really gorgeous animals and birds.
Adventure Awaits on the Sonoma Serengeti
Picture yourself among some of the world’s most exotic creatures. Come close with giraffes, gazelles, zebras and many of the other 600 animals that inhabit the preserve. Take an exciting three hour, safari drive and explore the wildlife preserve, traveling first in an authentic safari vehicle and then a trek around the inner grounds.
It may not be Africa, but it’s close! With animals roaming and running free outside your safari jeep this safari escape is the closest it comes without requiring a passport.

This is the main pull out on the ocean side of Hwy 1.
Uploaded or downloaded can never remember which I’m doing, the trail of version of CS5 after the email from Adobe told me my boxed CS5 will be shipping any day. They offered me the trial to use until mine arrives.
So many more sliders, and option. Full blown ACR is awesome! This is my first edit with CS5. This is another shot taken early that day which I shot at ISO 1600. I do love the D300s! No noticeable noise is great.
So I’m going a bit crazy learning Win 7 and CS5 at the moment. I do not have a head for these programs. I only wish the Kelby book for CS5 was released now too. Sadly, it’s not coming out until Aug.
Pj helped me go through all the sliders and ACR. Not too much done to this one. Recovery, fooling around with the adjustment brush on the sky, and I cropped off a bit to right, and resized it.
