For the first time I’m going to try to complete a Project 52 this year. Right now I’m leaning toward making my P52 a Themed project focusing on light/lighting using both natural light, and light modifiers but, we’ll see how that goes. It could end up being a little of everything.

The light on this Wrentit’s head was perfect at this moment. It flew up here so fast and stayed only a minute before flying off again. It didn’t return in the time I remained there. I feel so lucky to have captured this with the light on its face and eye like this.

After birding in the morning and afternoon my friend Dali and I headed to the city to photograph the skyline at Twilight. I have shot from this location before, but I wanted to make an image in the Blue Period from here. I didn’t find the trail down to the beach, but I’ll go earlier next time and find it.
There were 6 other people there besides Dali and I. Word is getting out about this location.

I had some free time today so I met up with my friend Dali and we went birding. It was a great morning for birding. We saw this Spotted Towhee, Nuttal Woodpecker, Sparrows, Chickadee, Blue Jay, a Wrentit, and a couple of photographers who were there before us said we missed a California Thrasher by seconds. The Red Bellied Sapsucker that has been visiting this Persimmon tree didn’t show up in the 2 hours we were there unfortunately.

I made David’s aka He-Man’s stocking back in the early mid 80’s. It’s counted cross stitch, and has an error or two, but those are hard to find. My Mother made mine, my son, and daughters in the early 80’s. I just bought a kit to make #1 Grandson’s. This year his stocking is store-bought with his initial J on it. I hope to have his counted cross stitch stocking completed by Christmas 2014.
I love our handmade stockings. Each stocking is unique mine is counted cross stitch, my daughter’s is needle-point, and my son’s is satin stitch. I pack them in a special box, and I look forward to hanging them each Christmas. They are among my most favorite and cherished Christmas decorations.
