We drove out of Yosemite Nat. Park to get here. I’d have to look it up to know exactly where “here” is though. The barns are park property, but the property surrounding them is private.
It’s a very quite place except if you’re near the stream. The frogs were singing on this morning, and later there was bird up at the very top of a pin tree singing. The best kind of music while in country or mountains.
I had a nice walk about here.

A variation of the still life I did last year using a few added elements in the composition.
I used an 85mm f/1.8AF-D lens with a Kenko 20mm extension tube. No flash. I like this composition much better than the one I put together last year. I like the warmth and additional elements of the netting, sand, grass, and greenery.
Netting- saved from a turkey breast, and the greenery is from a package of California Rolls purchased “to go” from my favorite Japanese resto.

My birthday present from God one day early! We had come up here in the morning, but it was overcast, and there was no rainbow. We decided to try coming back up in the afternoon because the light and clouds had shifted and it looked more promising. What a great decision!

This was the highlight of the trip for me. This was the shot to beat.

We had a late lunch here. Just as we arrived there was a coyote canting behind the picnic ground. I didn’t have my camera out then unfortunately so did not get the shot.

Actually as far as wildlife goes on this trip I didn’t shoot much of it.
I was focused on the landscape this time around so I let the deer, and stellar Jays go without taking their photos.

This is one of two frames that I was able to get the International SpaceStation flying over.

This was a 1m exposure. When I took the series I was planning to stack them for star trails. Not sure I’m going to do that now though.
I don’t like most of the shots.

This shot is worth keeping though.

This is an older shot from a Meet-Up event to Safari West.
These birds are really beautiful. Their crowns are golden and their neck feathers are like boas, all frilly, and soft looking. I was glad to see some outside of a fence.
