A couple of weeks ago I was birding with the group on a cold and icy morning. It was so icy I put on my spikes.
Part of the path we were on passes by an industrial complex and I found myself being distracted by the patterns in the ice in a parking lot.

I see a turtle with perhaps a Fibonacci circle on its shell.

I love all the circles like bubbles, and the swirl.
I’m birding with a friend this morning so I’ll be late getting to your blogs, and comments.
Happy Wednesday!
more to come…
Wow! That would have caught my attention too. I like the swirls and circles as well. And yes, I saw the turtle too!

Abstract art like this is so good. Suitable for framing , I think!

Oh, I hadn’t thought of printing and framing any.

Me too, when I see it! 😊

Wow they are quite unusual ice patterns Deborah, and appears very cold, considering how hot it is here at present with some of the hottest days on record in some areas.

Thank you, Ashley! I have to remind my brain that you’re down under and have the opposite seasons to us all the time so I get it! I hope you get some relief from the heat soon!

I’d be distracted too. I love ice formations and you caught some nice ones!

Iced puddles are fascinating 🙂

They are! I was distracted with other muddy puddle ice on another day while birding. 😂 There wasn’t any ice today to be distracted by.

I love seeing patterns in ice. These are great photos. In the last photo, the circle at the bottom looks like a bird is standing on it.
I hope birding went well today.

Oh, I didn’t notice the bird there until you mentioned it! I see it now too! How did I miss that?!!
It was a great birdy day. We saw 34 species and several were first sightings for the year. Thank you so much, Dan!

It was. And a nice 52 degrees so I was warm! 😊

52 ? That sounds tropical 🏖️

Brr! Stay warm! The only ice I’ve seen here is on the birdbath yesterday morning.

It’s a nice 52 degrees now. While birding I had to unzip my coat and fleece shirt as it got warm out there. It was nice! I hope the bird bath thawed out.

That sounds nice, Deborah, comfy temp. It did cuz I tossed the ice out and refilled it. 👍🏻

LOL! That works!

Indeed, I don’t use a traditional birdbath now as they were old and getting tough to clean so I replaced them both with a red clay “plate” that you would put a pot of flowers on. It’s about 1.5 inches deep which allows the little birds to have a proper bath. The bigger birds still get a satisfying drink too. ☺️

Happy abstractions. I saw a turtle before I read your text. Austin got wintry precipitation so I went out not birding but icicling.

Thank you, Steve! Oh, icicling sound fun! I hope you found some good ones.

Thank you so much, Donna! It was a good morning. I saw a few firsts for the year sightings too.

I saw your turtle immediately; the second photo just is what it is, but it’s very attractive. My birds’ frozen water bowls didn’t present such fun patterns.

A lot of people are also seeing the Turtle. I like your thought on the second image. It is what it is. 😊

A turtle! Yes! With, it seems, ancient messages witten on it. Well spotted! And a wonderful picture on top of it.

Thank you so much, Peter! It does look it could be ancient messages. 😊
