I love the damp mode of the image. I can almost smell the place. What are the birds on the barn roof?

It’s a great farm. I believe they’re Starlings.

Reminds me of my visits to my grandparent’s farm, many years ago. Nostalgic capture. Thank you.

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a barn that didn’t bring a smile, and here you have two handsome ones. Winning post. 🙂

Your photo reminds me of the time when we lived in a new development area. We could see a barn and the cow patch from our window.
We have thick fog like that very often this time of the year.
Thank you for sharing your photo, Deborah!

Yes fog does add an extra dimension of interest and artistic note to the scene Deborah. There is something rustic about farms, which takes us back to our roots.

Indeed! With the bare trees next to the window brought to mind Wuthering Heights… is one of the cattle named Heathcliff? 🤓

LOL! You know I never liked that book. I’m probably one of the few that doesn’t have a crush on Heathcliff. 😀

I remember loving it as a wee lass, I wonder how I’d feel about it if I read it all over again?

How common is fog in your area?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I feel like it’s fairly common because we have the right mix of cool and warm air meeting each other in the valley. On some summer mornings we can a low fog bank just along the river, and right now seems to be fog season here. We’ve had fog every morning for a couple of weeks now.
Others may disagree though. 😀

Photographically speaking, you’re fortunate to have frequent fog.

I’m quite fond of cows, and these are fine ones. They look contented. The birds lined up on the peak of the barn’s roof are a nice touch, as are the pulleys to get the hay up to the hayloft. That’s old school!

I like the way the Blackbirds lined up too. I don’t have any idea how old this farm is, but imagine it’s quite old. I was hoping someone would come out when I sorta trespassed onto the property just a wee bit to photograph their wonderful silos. No one did. I would have loved to ask some questions about the farm.

What a lovely scene! I always enjoy seeing cows and barns. The fog adds a nice mysterious touch.

Thank you so much, Dan! The fog was pretty nice with pockets of light here and there across the valley so I decided to get out and chase it. These cows are HUGE when standing. I enjoy seeing this barn and cows too. It’s my favorite country road here.
