Last night’s moonrise.

Waxing Gibbous 97.5%

I won’t be able to photograph the Supermoon tonight because it’s He-Man’s birthday and we’ll be celebrating that so I photographed it last night while the moon was in the Blue Hour.

Hum…the sky is bluer on my editing screen than it is here in WP. I wonder why?

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday week-end if you’re here in the States, and everyone else I hope you have a wonderful week-end too!

    1. Thank you so much, Jennie! We started the day with a couple hours of kayaking on Lake Tahoe, then home to wash the kayak, and lunch, he had a nap then we got ready to drive up to Reno for an Indian dinner…great food! Tandori Chicken, Chicken Tikki Masala, Aloo Gobi, rice, and Nahn sp? Then we went to the Reno Aces game and they won 15-3! He even saw the Super-Moon as it rose over the stadium. He said it was a good birthday. 😀

  1. Great capture Deborah, and Happy Birthday to He Man ! It is interesting how you see different craters on the moon to us, ours always looks like a face, so we can tell when we see a moon photo if it is from the north or south of the globe. It is said we see it upside down.

    1. I wonder from time to time what your side of the moon looks like. Our view has a face too. It’s just hard to see it when the view is closer up like this.
I’ve never figured out where the Southern Cross is either when I’ve been in Europe.

  2. Inattentive me didn’t realize this month would bring a ‘super’ moon, but I did notice the moon last night and thought, “I don’t believe that’s quite full.’ Indeed, it wasn’t, but you photo’s full of beauty. I’m sure your celebration was, as well!

    1. Thank you so much, Gordon! I hope you find a spot to shoot it from tonight. The pier is a nice spot too. Did they ever fix that burned out light bulb? 😀

Speaking of locations. He-Man went with me scouting on Monday for a place to shoot the eclipse in October. We found a spot!

        1. This morning there was a little smoke here from fires in CA and one in Reno, but after our morning paddle at the lake we came home to a valley filled with smoke. We can barely see the mountains now. 😭

I hope the wind blows it away for your moon shoot tonight!
