Note: The little black spot to the left of the Hot Air Balloon right in front isn’t a bug it’s actually a person in a little motorized glider thingie. I bet their view was amazing!

more to come…
I have been missing Wordless Weds – I thought you were on a break or visiting family. I am resubscribing with this comment. I love that photo.
I wondered if I’d been dropped, but you know it’s weird asking abut it isn’t it. I hope to see the boys soon it’s been several weeks since we’ve seen them.
Watching the hot ballooners get ready and then lift off is really a neat experience. I don’t want to go up in one, but they are so cool to see and I daydream about going up and that good enough for me! 😀😂
I’m not sure I’d want to go up in one, but I love seeing them. They are rare around here (not too many open spaces) but we occasionally see them in Central CT.
I signed up again. If I get the email, I’ll be there. If I don’t, I’ll come looking.
😀
It is neat getting up close and watching these guys set these balloons up, Nice looking shot and you caught the “bug” too, LOL.
Thank you so much, John! It was fun watching them get set up and launch. That little glider looks like fun.
How fun! I love your photos and the idea for the event. So… dare I say it… lighthearted!
LOL!! Oh yes, I’m glad you said it. So witty!! Thank you so much, Ally! 😀
How fun, Deborah, and make for stunning views you took:)
Thank you so much, Jesh! I didn’t go up in one. I was content on the ground. 😀
Noooh – are you afraid of heights?
I’ve never liked being near the edge of ledges, or being in or on anything shaky so it’s the basket that freaks me out more than the height, but I am getting to be more afraid of heights the older I get.
Yeah, that is the risk of getting older, we are not as flexible anymore. I can see it on this last move we had….
😀
I’d love to see one – or more – of these beauties up close like that. Even better, I’d love to go up in one.
I hope you get to one day, Janis!
So well titled… “lift off”, brings to mind Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s “I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.”
That’s a great quote! Thank you so much for this lovely comment!
There is a space on my bucket list for a hot air balloon ride. Scary but exhilarating! We had a wonderful Balloon Festival in Baton Rouge each year. Once a balloon made an unexpected landing on the street right in front of me! I got photos cuz… back in the day I never left the house without my camera. 😀
Wow, that must have something to have one land right in front of you!
I hope you get to check riding in one off your bucket list! 😀
Me too! 🙂
And it narrowly missed the rooftops as it came down sideways. 😱
Would be a great experience to go up in one of those, but would be hoping it stays safe, and the wind and weather remain calm.
You and me both! I’m content these days just to watch from the ground. 😀
Wonderful! What an uplifting shot 😊
Thank you so much, Belinda! I love that wit!! 💟
Wonderful lighting for this capture, Deborah. What an adventure.
Thank you so much, Rebecca! The early morning light was lovely on that morning.
Hot air balloons are so gorgeous, to me. Someday I hope to go up in one. Thanks for sharing your great shot!
Deb
Thanks, Deb!! You can have my turn!! I’m good on the ground taking images from there. 😀😂
🤣
Oh I love photos of hot air balloons, they are always so colorful! Well done on your composition, Deborah, you got a whole lot in this shot of the street, including the glider, distant balloons, a mountain! Have you gone on a hot air balloon ride? I have not, but always wanted to in my younger days. 🙂
They are so colorful and just magical, but no, I don’t want to go up in one. I did when I was much younger but not any more. I’m good on the ground. I would love to ride in a glider plane though and do some aerial photography.
Thank you so much, Donna! ❤😀
Looks like a fun and colorful event. Balloon rallies are always great to photograph. I have a friend that is a hot air balloon pilot so I’ve been up several times and it is always fun and makes for some great photos.
I image the images would be amazing but, I’m good on the ground. 😀
Wonderful. I’m happy you got to go. Hugs on the wing.
Thank you, Teagan! I’m glad it went on as planned and I got to go too. I hope your week is going well for you! Hugs.
Wow! Pretty, and scary too. There were quite a number of accidents in Slovenia. I’m not sure I’d be game to go.
I don’t want to ride in a Hot Air Balloon either, but they’re fun to watch up close like this.
That is amazing, and very beautiful!
It was amazing to watch them get set up and then lift off thankfully, we had a lovely morning that day. Thank you so much, Jennie!
I bet you did! You are welcome, Deborah.
Wonderful shots of the balloons, and amazing to think about someone up there gliding around. Whoa.
Thank you so much, Judy! I would like to see this morning from that vantage point. Wouldn’t that be fun! In the spring and summer they fly around in the field out back and are fun to watch.
The fact that they are lifting off from what looks like a major road is amazing to me. Great shot, Deborah.
It’s right on Main Street! Several miles of the street is closed for the event. Thank you so much, John!!
😁
I’ve seen pictures of the big annual balloon event in Albuquerque but knew nothing about Nevada Days.
I didn’t know about it either before I moved here. It’s really a neat event and worth getting up very early for.
