  1. How beautiful and delicate it is Deborah, it reminds me of some of our miniature orchids we have in Australia, they are so small you can walk right past them without realizing, but when you do a macro of them they have so much intricate beauty, hidden in their tiny framework.

  2. Hi Debora, Beautiful picture. I believe that wildflower is “Fireweed”. I was so happy to see it in the Southwest as it was one of my favorites in AK, which is where I am right now! I get back the 8/29, I hope we can plan a day to go out and about then. Take care, Jarlath

    1. Thanks, Jarlath!! Hopefully you don’t the smoke we have there.
It’s so bad that if it’s still aqi 150 or higher on Friday they’re cancelling the birding event. I hope it clears up by tomorrow night when they make the call.

  3. Beautiful wildflowers! Always called this fireweed. Good to know it’s proper name!

    1. They are pretty aren’t they! I haven’t heard it called Fireweed. Thanks for teaching me that!!

This isn’t its proper Latin name just the common name. I’m really bad at learning the proper Latin names of anything.

A penny for your thoughts...
