No green thumb am I. No, I planted a Hydrangea bush many years ago and I thought it died after the first winter. I had mentioned to a dear friend Jeannie G that I was going to rip it out. She said, "NO! Don’t do that it will come back." Jeannie has a wonderful green thumb and can grow anything so I followed her advice.
Fast forward many, many years…to my utter amazement this plant has flourished without much help from me!
It is a sweet reminder of my dear friend whom I miss very much. Love you Jeannie!
I added a texture to this photo to try and camouflage the bright highlight on the vase. I had the vase on my desk next to the window. I don’t think I was too successful it’s still distracting, but I like the stems and the bit of green for color contrast.

I stumbled upon your blog this evening…Beautiful image. There is something so compelling about Hydrangea’s – is it the shape, the colour, the tiny stem supporting a bubble of beauty…? I wonder. Love the texture added too.
This post reminds me of a post I wrote around April of this year about Spring Blossoms. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your lovely thoughts on Hydrangeas! I love their size, and the tiny flower inside each blossom. You don’t notice it unless you’re really looking, and the color! Lavender is my favorite shade of Hydrangea.
