  1. Hi Deborah, I just did a post on pets for tomorrow on my blog! I had a Gerbil when I was young and it drove me crazy. It loved to chew on the cardboard toilet paper rolls when I was trying to sleep at night. He wasn’t a cuddler either. Your guinea pig is cute! I understand how you miss your dog. I really miss not having a cat. 🐈‍⬛

  2. Precious memories, beautifully captured. Our pets teach us so much about love. We’ve said goodbye to two dogs while raising our children and our third has just turned 8!

  3. Cute pets you had Deborah! (And perhaps still have). When I was a child we had tons of animals in and around the house, a dog, a cat, hamsters, parakeets, goldfish, rabbits, you name it. Not anymore, but I still do like dogs a lot!

  4. I agree with Steve about the problem with pets. But when they’re with us, what a joy, at least mostly. 😉. When our girls were younger, we had gerbils for a while. I never realized how strong their teeth are. They could gnaw on hard plastic and had to to keep the teeth from getting too long. The honeymoon ended when one died during the night and the other had chomped on it. We gave away the survivor!

    Thanks for participating, Deborah!

    1. It is something you have to think about before getting a pet isn’t it. We knew Guinea Pigs had a short life so prepared #1 Grandson about that. It was still hard when Box passed. He was 4 years old a bit shorter than we thought.
