Beginning Friday we’ve had rain and snow up in the mountains. I woke up yesterday to this.

It’s the most wonderful time of year!
Happy Sunday Everyone!

Very nice. Iove the composition and the pastel colors. Are you still doing some painting?

Thank you so much, Robert! Yes, I’m still painting or trying to. I’ve not done anything worth sharing lately.

What a stunning capture, Deborah, the lighting is fabulous! Perfect timing with the sunlight. It’s always exciting with our first winter wonderland!!

Thank you so much, Donna! It is. We had our first snow down here in the valley yesterday. It didn’t stick here but, it has in other places a little more north of me.

Did you know, that when opening your blog, the blogroll looks all gray with no images, that the titles of the blog posts? You can add the featured picture to the post, to make it more inviting 🙂 Please read here in a Wrdpress Manual: https://wordpress.com/support/featured-images/#:~:text=Click%20on%20the%20title%20of,to%20upload%20a%20new%20image)
Let me know if I can help 🙂

I know. I had to change my theme couple of times throughout my 10+ years on WordPress. I like the layout of the post itself, but the opening page…not so much. My very first blog theme was great unfortunately, WP stops supporting the free ones more than I like. It’s a common complaint here among the blogosphere. I dread having to change my theme again but, I’ll look at the manual and see if changing my front page can be done without having to change my theme. Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it.

You don’t need to change anything on the first page. For each blog post you create, simply add a “Featured Image,” and it will automatically appear on the Home page.
To add it, open the post for editing, then look for the “Featured Image” option. You can refer to the link with a screenshot to see exactly where to find it. 😊

That’s a beautiful shot Deborah! We a lot of snow too … 14 inches here and much more on the peaks!

He-Man’s best friend lives in CO outside of Denver near Lovelock who said they just had 15 inches of snow! Do you have to shovel or blow a long driveway? I always hope I stayed fit enough through the summer and fall to shovel the driveway, sidewalk street at the bottom of the drive without having a heart attack.
We have a storm rolling in today which will bring more snow on the mountains with just rain down here in the valley. It’s pretty windy everywhere though.

Yeah … Loveland? got more snow after us. Ours is more than half melted around the house. We have a long, gravel driveway and a snowblower. Even so I shovel a lot around the porch, steps and other areas. If it’s a lighter snow I sometimes shovel the whole thing since it doesn’t make sense with the blower. Good exercise! (Sunny today.)

LOL! I got Lovelock and Loveland mixed up. Lovelock is just up I80 E here in NV. I’ve stopped for gas there a few times.

That is exactly why we chose this house. It took a year to find it because I was shopping for a nice house with a fantastic view. It was worth the time it took to find it.

Indeed. Washington Irving said “There is a serene and settled majesty to woodland scenery that enters into the soul and delights and elevates it, and fills it with noble inclinations.” And I bet he would have used a different word, not woodland, had he seen this photo.
Thank you for the delight and the noble inclinations. Great way to start the day.

Thank you for the lovely comment and quote! I hadn’t read or heard it before. It was a lovely start to the day. This morning the mountain tops are hidden under a gray dense layer of clouds.
