I was recently in Pinellas County, Florida visiting my Mom and Step-father and I did some birding too. While birding I always keep my eyes open for other things in nature like this Dragonfly.
I think it’s a Tawny Pennant-Brachymesia herbida. It’s in the Tropical Pennant family. If I’m wrong and you know what it is please let me know!

I think he looks like he’s wearing an early pilot’s helmet, eye goggles, and smiling at me. Hamming it up for the camera I suppose.😊

I love the beautiful simple composition with a non-distracting background, and leading in from the lower left

I like when out walking with a camera to see things I am not looking for, and sometimes getting fun and interesting shots, like this one. 👍

A great photo, Deborah. I’m going to take your word cause I don’t know one pennant from the next.

You’re funny in seeing a pilot’s helmet, eye goggles, and a smile on the face of the pennant. I guess it’s too early to tell if it’ll go on to the World Series this year.

That’s a great photo. I love the way they balance on the end of a leaf. He does look like he has a helmet on 😉

I love the way the do that too. Once I saw quite a few on the end of branch one evening and thought it looked like their airport the way they were coming in and landing for the night all near each other. 😊

I know the Halloween pennant, but I’m not sure I’ve seen another pennant species. This one’s perching exactly like a pennant should. I often see the Halloween pennants at the tippy-top of various prairie plants. It’s a great photo!
