I’m a bit late posting my Project 52 image for this week, but I spent the week-end in Lakeport, CA with good friends. This is an image I made while birding at Clear Lake State Park. I can’t resist Teasel, thistles, and Flowers! 🙂

Nice photo with a nice simple clean background. I believe that this is a teasel not a thistle. Dipsacus is the genus for this flowering plant in the family Caprifoliaceae. The members of this genus are known as teasel, teazel or teazle.

Thank you for the correct ID on this plant Robert! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it when it’s flowering…only dried out. I’ll correct the text.
