“There is nothing is more musical than a sunset. He who feels what he sees will find no more beautiful example of development in all that book which, alas, musicians read but too little – the book of Nature. ” Claude Debussy, originally uploaded by dmzajac2004.

Another photograph from my Elkhorn Slough Meet-Up on the 18th.
At the end of the day myself and two friends found this beach to shoot the sunset. The sun set right here. This was the best light and color of the sunset. I’m so glad we were here in time for this. After the sun set there was no color at all…the day faded into night. With it we headed north for home.

Thank you all so much for the nice comments on my post.
@Todd- Hi,
I admit I did sit on my heels and watch the fisherman and sky for awhile- forgetting to push the button on my remote release cable a few times.
I pulled a Todd though. I did pull out my reverse grad ND filter – results were not good, then I tried the both the 2stop and 3 stop trying to tame the ball of fire in the sky. I didn’t like any of those. In the end it was this scene to the right of the lowering sun that I liked the best.

Great exposure, nice light.
This would be one of those “leave the camera, just look and appreciate” scenes, for me. If I could leave well enough alone, which I can’t. 🙂

Love the warmth of the foreground depicting the setting sun and the coolness of the background of the sea!! Great composition Deborah!
