Diva Dog was making a big ruckus this afternoon, going on, and on, so I had to go see what had wound her up. Outside there were two little girls walking with, I think their Grandmother. Grandma was carrying the littlest girl’s trike, and a very large umbrella. They got across the street from my house where they stopped for negotiations.
There was pointing, and looking down the street both left then right, looking back up at Grandma, and finally there was a nod from Grandma then the little girls walked into the gutter to walk through the puddle of rain washing down it.
Back and forth they walked making sure to make a big splash when they got to the deepest parts. It was drizzling pretty good then too, but they didn’t have a care in the world. Grandma was ever so patient, and such a kindred spirit. She let them play in the gutter for nearly 5 minutes.

It was delightful watching them. I had to get it on film! I raced to grab my camera then shot this through the front window. It’s terribly soft, but I love it. When was the last time you walked through a puddle?

The tide was out so a few friends and I braved walking across the rocky break wall to get out to the exposed sand. Parts were really soft, and if you weren’t careful you’d sink pretty far. I didn’t plan too well…I wore boots, but they were suede! They needed a good brushing afterwords. It was worth it. The view was wonderful, and the sky put on a beautiful show for us.

There are several buildings with red lights on their tops you can see around the city. Coit Tower over on the right kind of hidden by the bridge is all decked out in red, and the Ferry Bldg off center left has it’s steeple in red. All are showing their support for the Home Team the "San Francisco 49er’s". They’ve won the Championship game and I wish them luck with the Super-Bowl!

Jupiter-Moon Conjunction January 22 2013

A couple of friends reminded me about this Heavenly event; Jupiter is right next to the Moon. Jupiter’s Moons may be visible to those with scopes. I hadn’t planned to shoot it. Then I went outside to see it and had to try. I couldn’t see Jupiter’s moons with my eyes or the lens so, I will enjoy the work of others like my friend Andy aka Stargazer95050, Rico, and SteventheAmusing who have telescopes and star trackers.
The moon is really high tonight so there is no hope of getting any foreground. It was worth the neck discomfort looking this high up.
Get out and look at it if you can. It won’t happen again until 2026.

While most the Bay Area was watching the 49er game friends Dali, Rainey and myself went on a birding expedition. This mellow yellow little Warbler was a happy to pose for us.

Congratulations to the 49ers!
Best wishes for a Superbowl win. Go Home Team GO!
