I’ve been neglecting my flower images for oh, so, long! Here are three from cultivated gardens, and my back yard.
Columbine- Blake Garden
On approach-UC Davis Arboretum
Daisy of some sort- My backyard
I’ve been feeling a day off so far this week. I hope that gets straightened out today.
If you follow me on Instagram you know I’m painting rocks and leaving them on trails, and in some places I’ve passed by for a Summer Project. I don’t leave them in State or National Parks because I think that’s a rule. Anyway, here are a couple of iPhone images showing some of the rocks I’ve painted to be left somewhere in the near future. I’ve left quite a few in the wild already. I hope those found new homes.
I hope you’re having a good week, and I wish for you a wonderful week-end!

Ohh, I love your stones. It’s been ages since I visited your blog, it seems! 😮 Well, I catch up sooner or later, and I’m glad I do because there’s always beauty.
Oh, thank you so much Manja for visiting and saying such a lovely thing! xx
Your rock art is very pretty!
I enjoyed that “moon rock!” 🌝
I treasure the bumblebee photo with the legs full of pollen. 🌸
Thank you so much Robin! for all your lovely comments and for catching up! I hope your summer is going swimmingly! xx
I love the bee, and also the daisy with blue centre (I think it’s an African or Cape Daisy).
Beautiful images and I like the painted rocks too!
Thank you so much John!
Stunning!
Thank you so much Lynn!
I love the bluish center of that daisy! I’m not sure I’ve every seen a center like that. The rock painting looks like so much fun.
Thank you so much Amy. The center is my favorite bit of that flower. I’m enjoying acrylic paint, and painting rocks. Who knew? 😊🖌🎨
Lovely captures, you always do such wonderful compositions, Deborah!
I love the flower photos and I really love that you are painting rocks and leaving them on trails. Fantastic.
Thank you so much Robert! I’m having fun painting the rocks, and discovering how much I like acrylic paint! I think I’ve found another medium!
You already know I love your rock art 💕 … and the last flower photo of the daisy is GORGEOUS!!
Thank you so much Joanne!!
Honestly, even rocks painted by children are precious, but yours are truly artful. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Joey! I’m really liking acrylic paint! Who knew?
Lovely flower images and what a lovely gesture to leave those colourful rocks around to find new homes
Thank you so much Pauline! I’m having fun painting them, and leaving them out to be found.
I love them Deborah. And your i ages are great. I found a lot of those rocks when we lived in Florida. I’m on Instagram daily. I’d love to see your images there!
Thank you so much Cheryl!
Where do I find you on Instagram? I’m dmzajac2004
Monotiti. I’ll look you up!
found ya! 😊
You too! 👏🏻
I do love the Columbine with its creamy background and that daisy! I would so like to happen upon your beautiful cat😊
Blue Herons are almost everywhere here…year round. Come visit CA!
Isn’t that cat rock neat. I got that from a tutorial from annamoon.de She’s a fantastic artist.
I like that one so much and the palm tree that I’m painting those designs the most. I’m also trying to get better at the mandalas- the dot art ones.
I wish you were closer so you could find one the cat rocks!
I’ve been to California twice, such a beautiful state. Do feature more of your painting, it’s wonderful!
Thank you so much Belinda!
Love the flower images, something I can’t quite get right!
Thank you so much Brian!
Hope you feel better before the weekend so you don’t miss any photography adventures. 🙂 Love all three of your flower photos, but that daisy is down right gorgeous. And, if I ran across any of your rocks I know they’d find a new home. 🙂
Thank you so much Judy! I’m glad you like that Daisy, and my painted rocks.
Beautiful flower portrait with great DOF/backgrounds! (Funny … I was thinking of painting a few rocks just yesterday … a big ladybug!)
Do it!!! I’m having so much fun, and I have found I do like acrylic paint! I I ordered a small set of better brushes at least better than the very cheap student grade set I bought initially. I hope they make a difference. I am thinking about getting a small canvas to paint on too.
When your ladybug is finished I’d love to see it!
Nice macro shots! So your pet rocks are being released? Should have micro-chipped them to track there travels 😉
Thank you so much Gordon! I signed them with an Instagram tag so I may see where they end up. 😊
Thanks for ending that flower neglect, Deborah. Both the rocks and the flowers are beautiful. I caught an on-approach shot just yesterday. 🙂
janet
Thank you so much Janet! I’m looking forward to seeing your latest On Approach image. I love it when I manage to catch a bee in flight. 😊🐝
Mine was complete happenstance as I was taking photos of the bees on the flowers. 🙂
I love your flower photos and the rocks you’ve been painting. You are incredibly talented, Deborah.
I’m with Dan. The daisy is terrific.
Thank you so much John!
🙂
I love the picture of that daisy, Deborah. The angle is perfect. The rocks are pretty cool. Maddie and I found a painted rock on one of our recent walks. I don’t know what the protocol is, I left it there, but I enjoyed seeing it.
Thank you so much Dan! I’m glad you like the Daisy.
Painted rocks are fun to find. I’ve only found a few myself. The last one was just last month, with that find, and Joanne’s find I was inspired to start painting some myself for the summer.
Lovely!
Thank you Jennie!
You are welcome, Deborah!
