Wild Wednesday 28/52 Restless Bachelors

Back to the Wild Mustangs we go for today’s post.  I was fortunate to catch a pair of bachelors rough housing.   These three were a distance away from the main herd. No doubt they’d been chased off by a more dominant stallion or two.

The attack!

It's Mine, I tell Ya!

The rebuttal…

Bachelors Sparring

…and as quickly as it started it ended with this,

Horsey Make Up

Awwww! They’re so cute! I’m glad it wasn’t a “real” fight. They’re just practicing for their turn at a Mare someday.  I loved that they ended their sparring with a hug more or less.

I hope your week is going well! Happy Hump Day everyone!

  1. I may be wrong but when my brothers two dogs who are about one year old get on top of each other, he says they are practicing “dominance.” I accidentally called it “humping each other.” Lol 😀 Hello, Deb! 💖

  2. Gosh, the colors in these are just lovely, aren’t they? I enjoy your photos so very much. I’m glad to know you’re out capturing more of these right now 🙂

  3. I love this, Deborah. Such beautiful, majestic animals in a gorgeous and wide open landscape. And don’t they behave just like people do. 🙂

    1. The Palomino did move when the other one fought back a bit. He wasn’t haven’t his peace interrupted. Up until then he looked pretty bored. 😀

It was really sweet that they were still friends and knew it wasn’t a real fight.

    1. Thank you so much Dan! The landscape isn’t as barren as one thinks is it. There’s even color!
On the way up to the High Camp we came upon a section of the trail that was lined with mountain lily’s, and there were other wildflowers in bloom as well.
